Turkey Drumsticks with Plum Sauce image

4 turkey drumsticks (2 1/2 to 3 pounds), skin removed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup plum sauce
1/3 cup sliced green onions
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water
3 cups hot cooked rice, for serving

Steps:

  • Sprinkle turkey with salt and pepper. Place turkey in 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Mix plum sauce, onions and soy sauce; pour over turkey.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours or until juice of turkey is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.
  • Remove turkey from cooker. Cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
  • Remove any fat from sauce. Mix cornstarch and water; stir into sauce.
  • Cover and cook on high heat setting 15 to 20 minutes or until sauce has thickened. Cut turkey from drumsticks. Serve with sauce and rice.

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup Chinese plum sauce
1/3 cup sliced green onions
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon cold water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Hot cooked noodles, if desired

Steps:

  • Sprinkle turkey drumsticks with salt and pepper. In 5- to 6-quart slow cooker, place drumsticks. In small bowl, mix plum sauce, onions and soy sauce. Pour over turkey.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  • About 25 minutes before serving, remove turkey from slow cooker; place on serving platter. Cover with foil to keep warm. Remove any fat from liquid in slow cooker.
  • In small bowl, blend water and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into liquid in slow cooker. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook 15 to 20 minutes longer or until sauce has thickened. Remove turkey meat from bones. Serve turkey with sauce over noodles.

6 turkey legs
3 teaspoons poultry seasoning, divided
salt and ground black pepper to taste
6 12x16-inch squares of aluminum foil

Steps:

  • Wash the turkey legs, and shake off excess moisture. Sprinkle each turkey leg with about 1/2 teaspoon of poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper to taste. Wrap the leg tightly in aluminum foil. Repeat with remaining legs.
  • Place the wrapped turkey legs into a slow cooker with no liquids or other ingredients. Set the cooker to Low, and cook until the meat is very tender, 7 to 8 hours.
