- In a 3-qt. slow cooker, layer half the potatoes, onion, garlic, green onions, mushrooms, flour, salt, pepper and butter. Repeat layers. Pour soup over the top. Cover and cook on low until potatoes are tender, 6-8 hours; sprinkle with cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking time.

- Heat olive oil and 1 teaspoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir mushrooms in butter until tender and browned, about 10 minutes.
- Stir cooked mushrooms, potatoes, Cheddar cheese, milk, onion, 2 tablespoons butter, garlic salt, and black pepper together in a slow cooker.
- Cook on High until potatoes are tender and Cheddar cheese is melted, about 4 hours.
