200g green beans
1 tbsp sesame oil
small chunk ginger , very finely chopped
1 garlic clove , crushed
1 tsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Cook the beans in a pan of boiling water for 3 mins until tender. Drain. Heat the sesame oil, then cook ginger and garlic for 1 min until fragrant. Stir in the beans, season and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cook for 30 secs until hot through.

Ginger, Carrot and Sesame Green Beans image

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon peeled and grated ginger
1 medium carrot, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
12 ounces haricot vert or standard green beans, trimmed
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
Toasted sesame oil, for drizzling
Toasted black sesame seeds, for garnish

Steps:

  • Heat a wok over high heat, and then add the vegetable oil. Add the ginger and cook for 30 seconds. Add the carrots and green beans and stir-fry for 2 minutes (adding a splash of water if necessary to facilitate cooking). Season the vegetables with the light soy, rice vinegar and a drizzle of toasted sesame oil. Garnish with a sprinkling of the toasted white and black sesame seeds.

1 pound green beans, trimmed
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1 + 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Steam green beans until tender. Toast sesame seeds in a small skillet over medium heat 5 minutes, stirring often. Meanwhile whisk together the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, vinegar, and oil in a large bowl. When green beans are tender add them to the bowl and toss. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve hot or cold. Add beans and toss. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds. Serve hot, at room temperature or chilled.

1 lb green beans (trimmed)
1 tablespoon olive oil (extra, virgin)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
6 garlic cloves (finely minced)
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon ginger (grated fresh)
1/2 toasted sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper (crushed)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper (freshly ground)
4 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F Line a shallow baking pan with foil. Place beans in the prepared baking pan.
  • Drizzle the green beans with olive oil and season with Kosher salt and pepper; toss gently to coat. Spread beans in an even layer. Roast for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon soy sauce; 6 cloves of garlic minced {1 tablespoon minced} 2 teaspoons honey; 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger; 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil; and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper. Drizzle over beans; toss gently to coat. Spread in an even layer. Roast about 10 minutes more or until beans are dark golden brown in spots and have started to shrivel. To serve, sprinkle with 4 teaspoons of toasted sesame seeds.

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbs peeled and minced fresh ginger
2 cups fresh or 1 (10oz) package frozen green beans (no need to thaw)
1 Tbs sesame seeds
1/2 cup reduced-sodium vegetable or chicken broth
2 Tbs reduced-sodium soy sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the green beans and sesame seeds and cook until the seeds are golden brown, about 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the broth and soy sauce and cook until the green beans are crisp-tender, about another 2 minutes. Season to tast with salt and pepper.
