Kielbasa sausage is bathed in a sweet and sour sauce for maximum flavor! This snack has been a hit at every party I've served it at.

2 cups ketchup
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
6 tablespoons butter
½ cup chopped onion
4 tablespoons lemon juice
½ cup water
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound kielbasa sausage

Steps:

  • In a slow cooker set for low heat, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, butter, onion, lemon juice, water, salt and pepper. Place the kielbasa sausage in the mixture. Cook 30 minutes, until the onions are soft, or as desired.

1 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/4-inch slices

2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
12 ounces light beer
1 1/2 cups water
2 cups chopped yellow onions
2 pounds Kielbasa sausage, links
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, over medium heat, combine the beer, water, onions and sausage. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook, covered, for 25 minutes. Remove the sausage from the pan and cool. Slice the sausage into 1 -inch pieces. In a large saute pan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 4 to 6 minutes for a light brown roux. Stir in the vinegar, sugar and the reserved beer and onion mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce to a simmer and continue to cook until the sauce coats the back of a spoon, about 15 minutes. Add the sliced sausage and continue to cook for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley.

1/2 red onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced

2 lbs sausage
1/2 cup water
1 cup beer
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 -3 tablespoons cornstarch, liquified in the smallest amount of water possible (depending on how thick you like it)
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Dijon mustard (I use my RJ's Homemade Spicy Mustard RJ's Homemade Spicy Mustard)
1 tablespoon horseradish

Steps:

  • Place whole sausage in pan with water.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and cut sausage into diagonal slices.
  • Return to skillet.
  • Add the cup of beer.
  • Cover and simmer another 10 minutes.
  • Add in brown sugar and liquefied cornstarch.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • (vinegar, mustard and horseradish).
  • Cook and stir until it is bubbly.
  • Serve with sauerkraut and enjoy.

DAD'S KIELBASA



Dad's Kielbasa image

This is a simple dinner my husband came up with when I was on bed rest. It is now his "signature dish" and the whole family loves it! Even better the next day!

1 small minced onions or 2 tablespoons onion flakes
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1 cup water
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 lbs kielbasa, cut in 1/4-inch rounds
1/4 cup cold water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 lb pasta, cooked

Steps:

  • In a large skillet saute onion until translucent.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, water, and brown sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Add Kielbasa.
  • Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix the 1/4 cup cold water with the 1 tablespoon of corn starch in a small glass until smooth.
  • Add cornstarch mixture to the skillet, stir well and remove from heat. Sauce will thicken as it stands.
  • Serve over pasta or as an appetizer with toothpicks.
