CRAB AND CREAM CHEESE DIP

One 12-ounce container whipped cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 teaspoons dry sherry
1/4 teaspoon crab boil seasoning (recommended: Old Bay)
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Freshly ground pepper
One 6-ounce can crabmeat
2 tablespoons minced fresh chives, plus more for garnish
Red and green bell peppers, squared bottoms
Purple cabbage, ruffled leaves and hollowed out
Radicchio, ruffled leaves and hollowed out
Green cabbage, ruffled leaves and hollowed out
Mini carrots
Icicle radishes
Treviso leaves
Cucumber spears
Cherry tomatoes and green cocktail olives each on sticks
Focaccia strips
Bread sticks (bakery)
Bagel chips, for salmon dip

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, lemon juice, sherry, crab boil seasoning, salt, and pepper. Fold in the crabmeat and chives. Top with additional chives.

This cold crab dip recipe was handed down from my late aunt. I always loved this dip during our get-togethers. I searched all over the internet and never found a similar recipe so I decided to share this!

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (6 ounce) can cooked crabmeat, drained
1 tablespoon minced white onion
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Mix together cream cheese, crab, onion, parsley, honey, horseradish, and lemon juice in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

nonstick cooking spray
½ cup dried currants
½ cup boiling water, or as needed
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
⅓ cup coconut milk
⅓ cup minced green onions
⅓ cup minced red bell pepper
2 tablespoons curry powder
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 pound lump crabmeat, picked over

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  • Place currants in a bowl. Add boiling water until just barely covered. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Drain currants, and reserve the liquid.
  • Combine cream cheese, coconut milk, green onions, bell pepper, curry powder, and mayonnaise; beat until smooth and creamy. Mix in crabmeat, currants, and reserved liquid. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 lb jumbo lump crabmeat
6 oz cream cheese, room temperature
3 tablespoons sour cream
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
2 teaspoons old bay seasoning, plus more for garnish
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2 tablespoons fresh chives, thinly sliced, for garnish
carrot stick, for serving
celery stick, for serving
cracker, for serving
crostini, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325˚F (160˚C).
  • Melt the butter in a medium pan over medium-low heat. Add the onion, garlic, and salt. Cook for 12-15 minutes, until the onions are caramelized. Remove from heat and transfer to a small bowl to cool completely.
  • Using a fine-mesh strainer, drain crab meat over a bowl.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, hot sauce, Old Bay, and lemon juice. Using an electric mixer, beat together until well combined. With a flexible spatula, fold in the onion mixture, ¾ cup (75 grams) cheddar cheese, and the crab meat.
  • Transfer the dip to a 1-quart baking dish. Top evenly with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the mixture is just beginning to bubble around the edges and the cheese is melted.
  • Heat the broiler to low. Broil dip for 3 minutes, until the whole surface is bubbling and browned. Remove the dip from the oven. Let cool for at least 15 minutes, until set.
  • Garnish the dip with Old Bay and chives. Serve with carrot sticks, celery sticks, crackers, and crostini.

1 pounds velveeta cheese
1 cans crabmeat
0.5 cups green onions
0.5 cups red pepper
0.5 cups sour cream
0.125 teaspoons cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Mix cheese, crabmeat, onions and peppers in large microwave bowl.
  • Microwave on High 5 minutes or until Velveeta is melted stirring after 3 minutes. Stir in sour cream and pepper.
  • Serve hot with crackers or veggies.
