1 bunch radishes, trimmed and halved
1 medium onion, halved and sliced
½ teaspoon lemon zest
¼ teaspoon dried thyme
¼ teaspoon dried dill
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
3 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place radishes and onion in a medium bowl. Sprinkle with lemon zest, thyme, dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat. Spread on the baking sheet in an even layer.
  • Roast in the preheated oven, stirring every 5 to 10 minutes, until edges are beginning to brown and radishes are fork-tender, 20 to 25 minutes. Taste and season with additional salt, if desired.

Tender, sweet, crisp-on-the-outside, and mild -yes, I said mild!- these Crispy Roasted Radishes with Onions are sublime enough to turn fervent radish haters into radish lovers!

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 large bunches radishes (about 1 pound each, trimmed of leaves)
1 or 2 bunches spring onions (about 1/2 pound each, trimmed of most of the green)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Halve the radishes or quarter any that are larger than a half dollar. Cut the onions into wedges about the size of the radish pieces. Spread in a single layer on a rimmed cookie sheet or cast-iron skillet. Drizzle the olive oil over the vegetables, sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the top and toss to coat, spreading back out into a single layer. Roast for 10 minutes, lower the heat to 350°F, stir the vegetables, and roast for 20 to 30 more minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are deeply caramelized on the outside and tender on the inside. These can be served hot or room temperature or anywhere in between.

1 pound radishes
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon dried rosemary
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Trim the ends of the radishes and cut into thirds.
  • Mix radishes, oil, garlic, salt, parsley, rosemary, and pepper together. Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Roast in the preheated oven until tender, about 35 minutes. Let cool a bit before eating.

400g radishes
6 garlic cloves, unpeeled and bashed
1 tbsp rapeseed oil

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/ gas 6. Tip the radishes and bashed garlic cloves into a roasting tin, season well and drizzle with the oil. Toss to coat the radishes and garlic.
  • Roast for 30-40 mins, or until the radishes are tender. Squeeze the garlic from its skins, then stir gently and serve.
