1 package chocolate candy coating (almond bark or candy melts)
1 bag Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (14-18 snack size cups)
1 to 2 cups dry roasted peanuts
1 to 2 teaspoons shortening (if needed)

Steps:

  • Place Peanut Butter cups in freezer for about 30 minutes. Line a baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper, set aside. Melt chocolate according to package directions or my personal favorite, in a small crock pot. Remove peanut butter cups from freezer and chop into large pieces. Return to freezer until ready to use. Once chocolate is melted and smooth stir in peanut butter cups and peanuts, just to coat. If chocolate seems a little thick, you can add the shortening. Spread chocolate onto prepared pan, using a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread to the edges. Let chocolate set up then cut or break into pieces. Store in air tight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

1 cup peanut butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 (12-ounce) package Hershey's milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter, salt and powdered sugar until firm. Slowly melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water. You may also melt them in a microwave oven set on high for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through the heating time. Grease the muffin tin cups and spoon some chocolate into each cup, filling halfway. With a spoon, draw the chocolate up the edges of each cup until all sides are coated. Cool in the refrigerator until firm. Spread some of the peanut butter onto the chocolate in each cup, leaving room for the final chocolate layer. Cool the cups again to firm up the peanut butter. Pour some chocolate onto the top of each candy and spread it to the edges. Let sit at room temperature, or covered in the refrigerator. Turn out of the pan when firm.

These taste JUST like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and are so easy to make! There are a lot of similar recipes, with slightly different amounts of (mostly) the same ingredients, but this is the one that I really like.

1 cup butter
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 1 cellophane package and 3 extra grahams)
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup smooth peanut butter
2 cups chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Mix butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and peanut butter. (an easy way to measure the peanut butter is to put 1 cup of water into a measuring cup, and then add enough peanut butter to it that the water reaches 2 cups).
  • Press mixture into a 9x13" pan.
  • Melt chocolate chips in microwave and stir until smooth (try a minute first, and then check).
  • Spread chocolate carefully over peanut butter layer with a spatula. (Having one person to pour the chocolate and one to spread works well!).
  • Let the chocolate cool for a while, and then cut into bars before the chocolate is completely hardened (or else the chocolate layer will just crack).
  • (cooking time is cooling time, and it's a very rough estimate, I didn't keep track).

1 package (10 to 12 ounces) dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup Reese's pieces, divided
1/2 cup miniature peanut butter cups, divided
1/2 cup chopped salted peanuts, divided

Steps:

  • Line a 15x10x1-in. pan with parchment; set aside. , In a double boiler or metal bowl over hot water, melt chocolate until 2/3 are melted. Remove from heat; stir until smooth. Stir in 1/4 cup each Reese's pieces, peanut butter cups and peanuts. Spread into prepared pan; top with remaining ingredients, pressing lightly to adhere (pan will not be full). Refrigerate until firm, 15-20 minutes. Break or cut into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
