This EASY Healthy Banana Bread recipe is made with low sugar, no oil and is just over 100 calories per slice. It still yield incredibly moist, perfectly sweet, and delicious bread!

4 bananas (, about 1 1/3 cups, mashed)
1 large egg
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
3 Tablespoons light brown sugar
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour ((white or white-whole wheat))
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter (, melted (or substitute applesauce))

Steps:

  • Grease a standard 9x5'' loaf pan (I also like to line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to make sure the loaf doesn't stick).
  • Mash bananas in a mixing bowl. Add egg, vanilla, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon and stir well to combine.
  • In a separate small bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to banana mixture and stir to combine.
  • Gently stir in melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 few minutes before inverting onto a wire cooling rack.

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup white sugar
1 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 egg whites
1 cup banana, mashed
¼ cup applesauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Add egg whites, bananas and applesauce; stir just until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean. Turn out onto wire rack and allow to cool before slicing.

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites, slightly beaten
1 cup banana, ripe, mashed
3/4 cup sugar or 3/4 cup Splenda sugar substitute
1/4 cup canola oil
nonstick cooking spray

Steps:

  • In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder,baking soda, cinnamon, and salt,set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl stir together egg whites, banana, sugar, and oil; Stir flour mixture into banana mixture until JUST moistened.
  • Spray a 8x4x2-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray; Spread batter in prepared pan.
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted near middle comes out clean.
  • Cool bread in the pan for 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool throughly on a wire rack; for eaiser slicing, wrap the bread in plastic wrap and store overnight.
  • Make ahead directions; cool completely, wrap in release foil, then seal in a plastic bag, freeze for up to 3 months.

1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened

  • Mash bananas in a bowl.

¼ cup margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas
¼ cup water
1 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray one 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the white sugar and margarine or butter until smooth and creamy. Beat in the eggs, water and bananas with the sugar mixture until it is well blended.
  • Mix in the flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder just until the mixture is moistened. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl to blend all ingredients.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degree C) for about 60 minutes. Bread is done when the top is firm to the touch and a golden brown color. Time will vary according to loaf size and oven type. When bread is removed from oven, allow it to cool on it's side for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and let cool on a rack. This bread is also excellent if you add mini chocolate chips or small fruit pieces to the mix just before baking.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 180 c/ gas mark 4 and line a loaf tin of baking paper
  • In a medium bowl beat sugar and butter till smooth and creamy. Beat in the eggs, water and bananas with the sugar mixture until well blended
  • Mix in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder just until the mixture is moistened. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl to blend all ingredients
  • Bake till the top is firm to the touch and golden brown in colour. When bread is removed from the oven, allow to cool on its side for 10 minutes, then remove from tin and let cool on wire rack
  • Enjoy!!
