1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons buttermilk
1 tablespoon minced fresh dill
2 teaspoons minced fresh oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Dash hot sauce
2 heads butter lettuce, cored and leaves separated
2 cups chopped hearts of palm
1 cup quartered artichoke hearts
1/4 cup jarred sliced roasted peppers, drained and chopped
1/4 cup yellow cherry tomatoes, halved
6 slices prosciutto
1/4 cup shaved Parmesan

Steps:

  • For the dressing: Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dill, oregano, paprika, pepper and hot sauce in a bowl and mix to combine.
  • For the assembly: Arrange the lettuce on a platter. Drizzle about half of the dressing over the lettuce. Sprinkle the hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto and shaved Parmesan evenly over the greens. Serve the remaining dressing on the side.

1 to 2 cloves garlic
Salt
2 tablespoons fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
1 tablespoon fresh chives
3 fresh basil leaves
1 cup (real) mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
Cayenne pepper, as needed
Paprika, as needed
Worcestershire sauce, as needed
2 iceberg heads, cut into chunks
1/2 cup grated Cheddar
2 carrots, shredded
1 cucumber, sliced
1/4 cup sunflower seeds

Steps:

  • For the dressing: Mince the garlic with a knife and then sprinkle about 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of salt on it and mash it into a paste with a fork. Chop the parsley, chives and basil very finely and add to the garlic.
  • In a bowl, combine the garlic mixture, mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan, cayenne, paprika and Worcestershire, tasting frequently and adjusting the seasonings as needed. Chill for a couple of hours before serving. Thin with a little milk before using if desired.
  • For the salad: To assemble, layer chunks of the iceberg lettuce on a platter. In lines, lay on the grated cheese, shredded carrots and cucumber slices, and sprinkle the sunflower seeds over the top. Drizzle on the dressing and serve.

1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (pre-grated in a pack or grate it yourself)
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley (if I have a little fresh basil, I throw that in too)
1 tablespoon sugar (I like to use honey)
1 tablespoon vinegar (red wine vinegar is good )
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 garlic clove, pressed
1 lemon, juice of
1 head romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
1/2 head iceberg lettuce, chunked (I like to use baby greens instead)
5 -6 whole pepperoncini peppers (Ree left them whole, but you can use sliced)
1/2 cup black olives
1/2 cup whole cherry tomatoes
1/2 small red onion, very thinly sliced into circles
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • For the dressing: In a blender, add the olive oil, mayonnaise, Parmesan, parsley, sugar, vinegar, black pepper, salt, red pepper flakes, garlic and lemon juice and blend until pureed.
  • For the salad: Put the romaine and iceberg greens in a large bowl and toss with the dressing. Top the salad with the pepperoncini, olives, tomatoes and onions. Sprinkle with Parmesan at the end.

Butter-flavored cooking spray
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 bunches romaine, torn
2 cups grape tomatoes, halved

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 small red onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
8 pepperoncini
