it is creamy and rich.this is a family recipe that has been a part of ever holiday since i was a child,and beyond.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pkg cream cheese (softened)
15 oz cream of coconut
6 large eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 c sugar

Steps:

  • 1. in a sauce pan,heat the sugar until golden brown,pour into a greased loaf pan.set aside.
  • 2. in a blender,beat the eggs then add cream of coconut and vanilla and mix to combine.drop in cream cheese and blend until smooth.pour mixture in the loaf pan,over the sugar.
  • 3. place in a boiled water bath and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour, let set at room temp for an hour then refrigerate for 1-2 hours.to serve,turn out onto a platter...for a taller flan,double the recipe and bake for an additional 45 minutes to an hour,when knife comes out clean.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can(s) carnation milk
1 can(s) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup(s) sugar
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
8 - egg yolks
FOR CARAMEL:
1 cup(s) sugar
1/2 cup(s) water
2 - small round pans
1 - large lasagna pan

Steps:

  • Make It: In a mixing bowl put sugar and egg yolks beat lightly until everything is incorporated add vanilla add both cans of milk mix till everything is mixed (do not over mix) boil water and sugar till lightly brown add caramel to the baking pan just enough to cover the bottom of pan add flan mixture into pans bake over (BAÑO DE MARIA)a little water inside the outter pan about half way Bake for 1 hr. or till thick let it cool than put in the fridge for about an hour
