1/4 cup butter
1 (16 ounce) package gaspars linguica sausage
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups water
2 cups rice

Steps:

  • Put Butter and sliced Linguica in pot over medium heat. Brown Linguica it takes about 15 minute.
  • Add the Water To Pot, And Salt.
  • Bring to a boil,Add Rice. When the rice and water come to a boil, turn heat down to a simmer. Stir Occasionally throughout cooking time. It takes about 15-20 minute.

This recipe has been in my family for years. It is so easy to make. I was worried my kids would not like it but both of them had second bowls!

½ cup butter
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 pound linguica sausage, cut into cubes
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 (15.5 ounce) can prepared shelled beans
2 ½ cups water
2 cups uncooked white rice

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large, heavy pot over medium-high heat; add onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, sausage, black pepper, basil, and oregano. Saute vegetable mixture until the vegetables are very tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Stir beans into the vegetable mixture; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour water over the vegetable mixture; add rice and stir. Place a cover on the pot, reduce heat to low, and cook until the rice is tender and the moisture completely absorbed, 20 to 25 minutes.
