2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot
1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 tablespoons sesame or canola oil, divided
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup bean sprouts
1 cup sliced bok choy
1 cup fresh snow peas
1 small sweet red pepper, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 cups hot cooked brown rice

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir in the broth, garlic and ginger; set aside., In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry pork in 1 tablespoon oil until no longer pink. Remove and keep warm., Stir-fry the mushrooms, bean sprouts, bok choy, peas, pepper and soy sauce in remaining oil for 4-5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender., Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1 minute or until thickened. Add pork; heat through. Serve with rice.

Since Zaar is celebrating the Chinese New Year and Asian cuisine, I figured I'd post this recipe for all to enjoy.

1 teaspoon canola oil
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic (fresh or bottled)
1/8-1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (for heat)
1 lb pork tenderloin, trimmed cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1/2 cup presliced button mushroom
1/2 cup presliced red bell pepper
1/2 cup sliced water chestnuts (I used canned)
1 teaspoon bottled ground fresh ginger (I used Spice World)
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Heat canola oil in a large nonstick skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Combine hoisin sauce and next 4 ingredients (through ground red pepper), stirring until blended; set aside.
  • Add pork to pan; sprinkle with black pepper and salt.
  • Cook 3 minutes on each side or until done.
  • Remove from pan.
  • Add sesame oil to pan.
  • Add mushrooms, bell pepper and ginger; stir fry 4-6 minutes or until bell pepper is tender and the liquid has evaporated.
  • Stir in onion, water chestnuts and pork.
  • Add hoisin mixture to pan; toss to coat.
  • Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms (about 6 ounces)
1 large green pepper, cut into strips
1 zucchini, thinly sliced
2 celery ribs, cut into diagonal slices
1 cup thinly sliced carrot
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 cups hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • Slice pork across the grain into 1/8-inch strips.
  • Brown pork strips in oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Push meat to side of skillet.
  • Add mushrooms, pepper, zucchini, celery, carrots, and garlic; stir-fry about 3 minutes.
  • Combine broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch.
  • Add to skillet and cook, stirring, until thickened; cook 1 minute longer.
  • Serve over rice.

1-1/4 pounds pork tenderloin
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 medium carrot, julienned
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 package (6 ounces) frozen snow peas, thawed
Boston lettuce leaves or hot cooked rice
Toasted sesame seeds, optional

Steps:

  • Cut the pork into 1/8-in. wide slices; cut each slice into 3-in. strips. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, sugar, ginger and cayenne. Add pork; toss to coat and set aside. , In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry onion, carrot and garlic in oil until crisp-tender. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 cup chopped broccoli
1 cup sliced green bell pepper
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup sliced napa cabbage
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup fresh bean sprouts
1 cup sliced zucchini
1 cup chopped green onions
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup water
2 tablespoons mushroom soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a wok or large heavy skillet. Add chicken or pork (see Cook's Note), garlic, and oyster sauce, and stir-fry for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in broccoli, green pepper, carrots, cabbage, celery, bean sprouts, zucchini, and green onions. Season with salt, and stir-fry for 6 to 8 minutes.

1 cup water
1 boneless pork loin chop (4 oz), cut into thin bite-size strips
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 can (18.5 oz) Progresso™ Light homestyle vegetable and rice soup
1 tablespoon stir-fry sauce
1 cup fresh snow pea pods
2 tablespoons sliced almonds, if desired

Steps:

  • In 1-quart saucepan, cook rice in water as directed on package, omitting butter.
  • Meanwhile, in 12-inch nonstick skillet, place pork, mushrooms and onion; sprinkle with garlic powder. Cook over high heat 4 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently, until pork begins to brown. Stir in soup and stir-fry sauce; heat to boiling. Stir in pea pods. Cook over high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pea pods are crisp-tender.
