Italian-Inspired Deep-Dish Pizza Quiche image

A new twist on a deep-dish pizza that will wow your guests! Great for football parties! Serve with a nice salad and a glass of your favorite wine or bottle of beer!

Provided by Wildflour

Categories     Quiche

Time 4h55m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 20

nonstick cooking spray
1 tablespoon fine cornmeal
1 (16 ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
½ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes, or to taste
8 ounces Italian sausage, cooked, pork
4 ounces sliced baby portobello mushrooms
1 small sweet red pepper, thinly sliced
¼ cup sliced black olives, or to taste
2 cups heavy cream
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon crushed dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon whole fennel seeds
½ teaspoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
14 slices pepperoni

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray the bottom and sides of a 2 1/2-inch deep, 9 1/2-inch round springform pan with nonstick spray, then evenly dust with cornmeal.
  • Roll out and stretch pizza dough to a diameter of about 15 1/2 inches. Carefully place it in the prepared pan to cover the bottom and sides with some overhang, re-stretching as needed.
  • Toss mozzarella, Cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses together to mix. Set aside 1 cup in the refrigerator for later. Sprinkle 1/2 of the remaining cheese over the dough. Layer with sun-dried tomatoes, sausage, mushrooms, sweet pepper, and olives, in that order.
  • Prepare custard: Whisk eggs in a 4-cup liquid measure. Add cream, eggs, basil, oregano, fennel seeds, garlic salt, crushed red pepper, and garlic powder and whisk until well combined.
  • Pour 1/2 of the custard mixture over the layered ingredients. Top with remaining (non-refrigerated) cheese, then pour the remaining custard evenly over top. Roll the dough overhang inward over the cheese and custard.
  • Place the springform pan on a large sheet of foil, and gather the foil up and around the pan in case it leaks. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Tent the top with foil to prevent excessive browning, and bake until fully set, about 45 minutes longer.
  • Carefully remove from the oven. Sprinkle with reserved 1 cup cheese and pepperoni slices. Pop back into the oven and bake until cheese melts, about 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack. Tent loosely with foil and let rest for about 2 hours. (It will stay hot and be completely set after 2 hours.)
  • Release the ring. Slice through the outer crust with a serrated knife, then a sharp chef's knife to finish slicing the pieces.

DEEP DISH PIZZA QUICHE

Deep Dish Pizza Quiche image

This is a very low carb recipe that I made when I was on Atkin's and couldn't have pizza. I still make it because my husband and I both love it.

Provided by Thea Pappalardo

Categories     Pizza

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 oz cream cheese, softened
4 large eggs
1/3 c heavy cream or 1/2 & 1/2
1/4 c parmesan
1/2 tsp italian seasoning
2 c shredded mozzarella
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c pizza sauce or marinara sauce
1 c shredded mozzarella
toppings such as pepperoni, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, olives, etc

Steps:

  • 1. Beat together the cream cheese and eggs until smooth. Add cream, parmesan, garlic and Italian seasoning. Spray a 9" or larger glass baking dish with Pam. I always use a bigger pan because I like a thin "crust". Add 2 cups mozzarella to the pan and pour egg mixture over it. Bake in a 375 oven for 20-30 minutes or until set.
  • 2. Spread "crust" with pizza sauce, add remaining cup of mozzarella and add your favorite toppings. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Pepperoni Pizza Keto Crustless Quiche (Video) - Kalyn's Kitchen image

When you're craving the flavors of Pepperoni Pizza but don't want the carbs, this Pepperoni Pizza Keto Crustless Quiche will really taste good!

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 oz. sliced mushrooms
2 tsp. olive oil (for browning mushrooms)
1 2.25 oz. can sliced black olives, drained well (Olives are optional but they're good if you like olives on pizza.)
1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded Italian Blend cheese (sometimes called Pizza cheese)
1 tsp. + 1/2 tsp. Italian Herb blend
4 eggs, beaten well
1/2 cup heavy cream (see notes)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 oz. sliced pepperoni

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400F/200C. Spray a 9 - 10 inch glass pie dish with non-stock spray.
  • Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan. (I used my favorite 12" Green Pan Ceramic Non-Stick Frying Pan.)
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook over medium-high heat until mushrooms release the liquid, the liquid evaporates, and mushrooms are cooked and lightly brown.
  • While mushrooms cook, dump olives into a colander placed in the sink and let them them drain well.
  • Combine the Mozzarella and Italian Blend Cheese in a bowl and sprinkle over the 1 tsp. Italian Herb Blend (affiliate link). Stir the cheese with a fork so the dried herbs are evenly distributed in the cheese. Place the cheese in the pie dish.
  • Beat the eggs with a fork, then mix in the heavy cream, half and half, or milk and the garlic powder.
  • Mix the egg/cream mixture into the cheese in the pie dish, stirring well with a fork until all the cheese is completely coated with the egg mixture.
  • Make a layer of browned mushrooms on top of the cheese/egg mixture. Top that with the sliced olives if using.
  • Arrange the pepperoni slices in an overlapping layer over the top of the mushrooms and olives. Sprinkle with the other 1/2 teaspoon of Italian Herb Blend.
  • Bake the quiche 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are completely set and the pepperoni is starting to brown.
  • Let quiche cool 3-5 minutes (it will sink down slightly as it cools. Serve hot.
  • This will keep for several days in the refrigerator and reheats well in the microwave or in a pan on the stove.

QUICHE LORRAINE PIZZA

Quiche Lorraine Pizza image

This recipe combines the flavors of the classic Quiche Lorraine (onion, bacon, Gruyere cheese) on a pizza base, instead of a tart shell - apparently, the earliest incarnations of this dish used a bread dough base, rather than the flaky pastry we've come to know. You can make your own pizza dough (there are plenty of recipes on here), or buy dough at your supermarket. Your local pizzeria will probably also be happy to sell you a lump of raw dough, if you ask nicely. If you can't find (or don't like) Gruyere, any Swiss-style cheese will work (but something more flavorful than a bland American-made baby Swiss would be much better).

Time 45m

Yield 1 12-inch pizza, 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb pizza dough
1 leek
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
6 slices bacon, cooked and roughly chopped
1/2 lb gruyere, shredded (about 2 cups)
3 eggs
salt, to taste
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500°F If you have a pizza stone, set it on a rack in the middle of the oven. Let pizza dough come up to room temperature while the oven is heating.
  • Thinly slice the white and light-green parts of the leek. Wash and drain well. Discard the dark green parts.
  • Melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat in a small saute pan. Add the leeks, season with salt and pepper, and cook until soft, 5-7 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  • Shape the pizza dough into a roughly 12" circle on a pizza peel, or on the back of a cookie sheet, sprinkled with flour or fine cornmeal. Melt the remaining butter and brush all over the pizza dough. Spread the leeks over the surface, leaving a 1/2-1" border all around. Sprinkle the bacon over the leeks, then top with the shredded cheese. Crack the eggs (evenly spaced) over the cheese, then sprinkle black pepper over the whole thing.
  • Slide the dough onto your pizza stone (or place the pan into the oven) and bake 12-15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and beginning to brown. Serve hot.
