3 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 c. water
food coloring, optional
flavoring, optional

Steps:

  • In large pot, combine first 3 ingredients. Cook on medium heat, stirring to make sure that all of the sugar dissolves. Boil the sugar mixture until it reaches 300 degrees, or until it hardens into threads when a dropped into cold water (15-20 minutes). Once you reach 300 degrees you can remove it from the heat, and add a few drops of food coloring and/or flavoring. Pour into a sided cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Allow to cool either by allowing it to sit, or put it in the refrigerator. Once candy has hardened, break into pieces.

7 star mints [the hard after dinner mints]crushed
2 drops red food coloring
1/4 tsp pepermint extract
10 oz white chocolate squars

Steps:

  • 1. Crush the mint.
  • 2. melt white chocolate squares in mirowave i min or until just melted [dont over cook]
  • 3. Stir in crushed star mints,food coloring and pepermint extract.
  • 4. Spread on wax paper let harden,Brake into pieces.

My Granny's cake-like cookies that tasted best with pink icing...although she did use other colors.

1 cup butter
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 cup milk
5 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a cookie sheet.
  • In a large bowl, cream the margarine and sugar together. Add the eggs one at a time, mix well. Stir in the milk and vanilla. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder; stir into the creamed mixture until everything is well blended. Drop cookie dough by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. The tops of the cookies should spring back to the touch like a cake. Cool on wire racks before frosting.
