An extremely delicious Pillsbury bakeoff recipe. This is a good recipe for mailing. They are moist and...did I say delicious?

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup butter, softened
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup crushed pineapple (well drained)
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Combine everything except pineapple, chocolate and nuts. Put half of the dough in a small bowl. To one half, add the pineapple and mix well. To the other half, add the chocolate and walnuts, and mix well.
  • Spread chocolate mixture in bottom of greased 13x9 pan. Spread pineapple mixture over the chocolate layer. Use a butter knife to cut through the layers and marbelize.
  • Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.

1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup crushed pineapple,drained (save the juice for icing)
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Combine butter and chocolate in saucepan and melt over low heat.In bowl beat sugar and eggs.Add chocolate mixture.Stir in pineapple.Measure in flour,vanilla,baking powder,baking soda,salt and nuts.Stir well.Scrape into a greased 9x9-in. baking pan.Bake in 350 F. oven for 30 minutes until edges show signs of pulling away from the pan.Cool on a wire rack. Pineapple Icing 1-1/2 cups icing sugar 3 tablespoons butter or margarine,softened 5 teaspoons pineapple juice Beat all together in a small bowl adding more sugar or juice as needed for easy spreading.Smooth over brownies.Cut when set. ½ cup butter
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
½ cup crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 ½ cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine and chocolate in saucepan and melt over low heat. Beat white sugar and eggs together, add chocolate mixture. Stir. Add 1/2 cup drained pineapple and blend. Measure in flour, vanilla, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nuts and give it a good stirring.
  • Scrape into greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 30 minutes until edges show signs of pulling away from the pan. Cool. Frost with Pineapple Icing.
  • To Make Pineapple Icing: Combine confectioners' sugar, 3 tablespoons butter or margarine and 3 tablespoons pineapple in bowl and beat well, adding pineapple juice as needed for spreading. Smooth over brownies. Cut when set.

1 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
3/4 cup(s) butter, softened
1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
3 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 cup(s) crushed pineapple, drained very well
3 - (1 ounce squares) baker's chocolate, melted and coole a bit
2 cup(s) mini marshmallows
3/4 cup(s) pecans (chopped)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Butter and flour a 13x9 inch cake pan.
  • Put the flour, salt, cinnamon and baking powder in a sifter. Sift into a bowl. Set aside until needed.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, adding the eggs one at a time. Mix in the dry ingredients slowly. Remove 1 cup of the batter, mix it in with the pineapple in another bowl along with half of the marshmallows. Add the melted chocolate to the large bowl of batter. Stir in the nuts and half of the marshmallows.
  • Evenly put about 1 - 2 cups of the chocolate batter in the bottom of the 13x9 pan. Evenly put the pineapple batter on top of the chocolate layer. Put the remaining chocolate batter on top of the pineapple layer
  • Bake for 25 minutes. Cool. Cut into desired size bars.
