1 fully-cooked ham steak (approximately 1 pound)
4 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons flour
3/4 cup water
4 Tablespoons real maple syrup
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • In a large frying pan, heat butter over medium heat until hot.
  • Add ham steak, and heat for 4 to 5 minutes on the first side; flip and heat for 2 to 3 minutes on second side.
  • Remove ham steak from pan; put on a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.
  • Lower heat to low; add flour to butter and stir for 1 minute.
  • Add water, maple syrup, Dijon mustard and soy sauce. Stir constantly, scraping up the bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir for 2-3 minutes or until gravy is thick and smooth,
  • Add ham steak to gravy, and heat until desired temperature (approximately 2 to 3 minutes).
  • Serve with warm biscuits.

4 fully cooked boneless ham steaks (8 ounces each)
1 cup chopped onion
3 cups apple juice
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2 medium green apples, thinly sliced
2 medium red apples, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
1 tablespoon minced fresh sage or 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a large skillet coated with cooking spray, brown ham steaks in batches over medium heat; remove and keep warm., In same skillet, saute onion until tender. Stir in apple juice and mustard; bring to a boil. Add apples. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 4 minutes or until apples are tender., Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into apple juice mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in sage and pepper. Return steaks to skillet; heat through.

1 fully cooked ham steak (about 1 lb & 1/2 inch thick)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon cold water
1 -3 teaspoon snipped of fresh mint

Steps:

  • Drain pears, reserving the juice.
  • Set the pears& juice aside. In skillet, brown the ham steak on both sides in oil Remove & keep warm. Drain the skillet. Combine cornstarch, ginger and water until smooth. Stir in reserved pear juice. Add to the skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Add ham and reserved pears, heat through. Sprinkle with mint.
