I've tried different versions of this recipe, so I decided to come up with my own creation. It's great for a party and can be made ahead.

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed
1 cup frozen corn, defrosted
3 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 green pepper, diced
1 red pepper, diced
1 medium vidalia onion, diced
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
tortilla chips
corn chips

Steps:

  • In Kitchen aid mixer whip the cream cheese, add the salsa; blend well.
  • Place this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch glass baking dish ( or similar serving dish)
  • Layer all the ingredients except the tortilla chips/ Frito's into the pan.
  • Serve with chips.

" PARTY" TACO DIP



This recipe was passed on to me from my mother. I'm not sure of its origin. I love this recipe because it is very fast to make and when taken to family functions, party's, etc. I never come home with leftovers. Everyone loves it!

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package ortega taco seasoning mix (dry or powder)
lettuce (optional)
black olives (optional)
tomatoes (optional)
green onion (optional)
green pepper (optional)
Mexican blend cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl blend the following ingredients: Cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise.
  • Stir in dry Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix.
  • Spread in 9x13-inch pan and top with any/all of the optional ingredients listed above.
  • Portions should be to your liking-- put on as little or as much as you would like.
  • Serve with Tostitos white corn chips!

My pie plate is always scraped clean whenever I make this fast and flavorful dip. For a pretty presentation, garnish with chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives and shredded lettuce. -Gloria Hanefeld, Continental, Ohio

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 envelope taco seasoning
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Tortilla chips

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the beans, tomato sauce and taco seasoning. , Spread into an ungreased 9-in. pie plate. Top with sour cream and cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve with chips.
