SLOW COOKER PARTY POTATOES

This recipe is an easy side dish made from thawed hashbrown potatoes. After 5 hours in the slow cooker a delicious potato casserole is made.

30 oz. shredded hashbrown potatoes, (thawed)
8 oz. shredded cheddar, (divided)
16 oz. sour cream
10.5 oz. cream of chicken soup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1 bunch green onions, (sliced and divided)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine all the ingredients except a half cup of cheese and a few tablespoons of the green onion.
  • Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray. Add the potato mixture to the slow cooker and flatten out. Add the remaining cheese and place lid on slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.
  • Sprinkle with the leftover green onions and serve!

1 (2-pound) bag frozen cubed hash browns
6 ounces sour cream
10 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
1 can cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 medium onion, chopped fine

Steps:

  • Thaw potatoes. Melt butter in large bowl, then add in sour cream, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, butter, salt, pepper, and onion. Mix well. Stir in potatoes. Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. Pour potato mixture into crockpot. Heat on low for 4 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally.

1 (2 pound) package frozen Southern-style hash brown potatoes, thawed
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 cup chopped yellow onion
1 cup milk
1 pinch seasoned salt, or to taste
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 cup crushed cheese-flavored crackers (such as Cheez-It®), divided

Steps:

  • Mix hash brown potatoes, Cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, onion, milk, seasoned salt, garlic, and 1/2 cup cheese-flavored crackers in a slow cooker.

These were fun to make! They remind me of loaded mashed potatoes. This is from a recipe from The Crockin Girls that that had been submitted by Melissa Casey. These are appropriately named as they would be perfect for a get together.

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 -8 large potatoes
1/2 cup butter
8 ounces cheese, shredded (or more)
1 bunch green onion, chopped
4 ounces bacon pieces
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Wrap clean, dry potaotes in foil.
  • Cut a slit in each potato and add to crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  • Unwrap potatoes.
  • Remove potato skins.
  • Cut into bite-sized chunks.
  • Return potatoes to crock pot (it is handy to use a liner).
  • Add butter, cheese, green onioins, bacon pieces, salt & pepper.
  • Stir carefully.
  • Cook on low for 30 minutes or until cheese and butter have melted.
