My daughter adores chocolate and peanut butter together. I am not sure where I got this recipe, I do know I have been making if for almost 25 years. We usually have it on July 4th after our cookout.

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pkg oreos (not double stuff)
8 regular sized butterfinger bars
1 stick melted butter
1/2 gal vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • 1. In a zip lock bag crush Oreos and butterfingers. (It's easier to crush a little at a time and then put in a bowl.) Once all crushed, mix in a stick of melted butter. In a 9x13 pan press down ½ the mixture. Then, put ice cream on top of mixture. (I opened up the whole container of ice cream and cut it into slices...then it's easy to pat down in the pan.) Cover the ice cream with remaining ½ mixture. Lastly, put in the freezer until you're ready to eat it!
  • 2. You can use different flavors of Oreos and ice cream. To serve I use a bit of chocolate sauce on the plate and place the dessert on top. Then drizzle a bit of chocolate sauce over the top with maybe a bit of whipped cream.
