1 slice Italian bread or 1 slice sourdough bread
2 slices monterey jack cheese or 2 slices muenster cheese
3 slices ripe tomatoes
1 dash salt and pepper
1/2 cup alfalfa sprout
2 green onions, sliced thin
1 mushroom, sliced
1 -2 slice peeled ripe avocado
2 slices cooked bacon
Italian dressing or vinaigrette dressing, to your liking

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  • Toast bread on one side in toaster oven or oven. Remove.
  • Top untoasted side of bread with cheese and bake 3-7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Working quickly, top cheese with tomato slices, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange sprouts, onions, mushroom, avocado, and bacon on top.
  • Serve with dressing. Makes one serving. Should be eaten with knife and fork.

2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup pickled jalapeƱo slices , minced
8 slices hearty white sandwich bread
4 tablespoons unsalted butter , melted
8 slices deli turkey
12 strips bacon (cooked)
16 slices avocado

Steps:

  • 1. Combine cheeses and jalepeƱos in bowl. Brush top side of each slice of bread with melted butter. Flip 4 slices over, layer with 1/4 cup cheese mixture, 2 slices turkey, 3 strips bacon, and 3-4 slices avocado. Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered side up. 2. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat for 1 minute. Place 2 sandwiches in pan and weight with round cake pan, pressing lightly. Leave cake pan on top and cook until first side is golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Flip sandwiches, press again with cake pan, and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Repeat with remaining 2 sandwiches.
