2 Cups of peeled and chopped ripe mangos (About 4 Ataulfo Mangos)
½ cup sugar*
5 cups of water
3 cups of ice cubes

Steps:

  • Place the peeled & chopped mangos, sugar, and water in your blender. Process until you have a fine and smooth texture.
  • Pour in a large pitcher and add the ice cubes. Taste to check sweetness.

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 ripe mangos, peeled, pitted and diced
3 sprigs fresh mint
1 1/2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon chili powder
4 to 6 shots tequila, optional

Steps:

  • Add the mangoes, mint, honey, chili powder and 4 cups water to a blender. Blend until smooth. Fill 4 to 6 rocks glasses with ice cubes, then strain the drink over the ice and serve.
  • Add a shot of tequila (healthy for the soul) to each, if using.

This is a light, refreshing drink very popular in central America. A great thirst quencher! The recipe was inspired by Maria Gonzales, a street food vendor and Whole Planet Foundation borrower, who lives in León, Nicaragua, via the Whole Foods store.

1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted and cut into chunks
1 1/2 cups cold water (try this with club soda for a bubbly drink!)
1/2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice (or more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon honey (to taste, or agave nectar)
lime wedge (to garnish)
mint leaf (to garnish)

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine mango and water and blend until smooth. Pour through a strainer into ice-filled glasses. You should end up with about 1 cup of liquid. Stir in lime juice and agave. Garnish with lime and mint, and serve.
