Low fat, no-beef burgers that taste almost exactly like all-beef burgers. Great for the guy trying to lower his cholesterol!

1 (5 ounce) can water-packed tuna, drained
¼ cup teriyaki sauce
½ cup bread crumbs
1 egg white
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon minced garlic
¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Combine the tuna, teriyaki sauce, bread crumbs, and egg whites in a bowl until well combined, and no large pieces of tuna remain. Season with black pepper, garlic, and hot sauce. Mix well, then form into two patties.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.

1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for cooking
¾ cup panko bread crumbs
1 tablespoon dried parsley
2 teaspoons fresh chives, minced
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 large egg, beaten
whole wheat burger bun, for serving

Steps:

  • Combine the tuna, olive oil, panko, parsley, chives, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and egg in a large bowl until evenly mixed.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 portions and form patties with your hands.
  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place the patties in the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  • Serve on whole wheat buns with your preferred toppings.

Found this on the Allrecipes website. I would recommend using a high quality teriyaki sauce, some can be way too salty. These are a great lower-fat alternative to the traditional beef burger.
