I always fix little smokies for any of our family casual Buffet dinners, I make mine in the Crock Pot and keep them warm. There is never any left, always a hit with our family . Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pkg little smokies ( such as oscar mayer )
1/2 c apricot jam
1/2 c barbecue sauce
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 c creamy peanut butter
1/4 c beef broth ( optional , only if you want a thinner sauce )
add 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. ht pepper sauce if you want them spicy ( optional )

Steps:

  • 1. Heat little Smokies as dirceted on the Package - Mix the jam and the barbecue sauce in a sauce pan and set over medium heat, cook untill jam is all melted, stirring occasionally, then stir in the lemon juice. - REMOVE from heat and blend in the Peanut Butter , ( Note : If you want a thinner sauce add the 1/4 cup of Beef Broth at this time ) also add the hot pepper sauce if you want them spicy, Return the pan to stove over medium heat . Bring just to a boil and remove from stove.
  • 2. Place little smokies in a crock pot and pour in mixture from sauce pan over smokies - Set Crock Pot to LOW Heat to keep warm, while serving . - Good Served with Green Bell Peppers and Fresh Pineapple Chunks If disired .

This recipe came from a 4-H food show - it won the Bi-county show and placed 4th in the district food show! Really good - very addicting!

1 (16 ounce) package Little Smokies sausages
2/3 cup apricot jam
1/2 cup kraft original barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup beef broth

Steps:

  • Heat Little Smokies as directed on package.
  • Mix jam and bbq sauce in saucepan, cook over medium heat until jam is mixed well, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in lemon juice.
  • Remove from heat, blend in peanut butter.
  • Stir in beef broth, return to heat, bring just to a boil.
  • Place jam mixture and Little Smokies in slow cooker.
  • Set on low heat, serve warm.
  • May add more beef broth if sauce is too thick for preference.
