1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup white sugar
¼ cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Beat together the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter and vanilla.
  • Arrange pecans in bottom of pie crust and pour mixture over.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.

My family loves my pecan pie and they are so delicious and sweet and tasty. I make them for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

1 c karo light corn syrup
3 eggs
1 c sugar
2 Tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 c (6 oz.) pecans
1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Stir the first 5 ingredients thoroughly using a spoon. Mix in pecans. Pour in pie crust. Bake on center rack of oven for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool 2 hours. Store in refrigerator.

Dough for single-crust pie
1/2 cup butter
2-1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons whiskey or bourbon, optional
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Optional: Whipped cream and ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge. Refrigerate while preparing filling., In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add pecans; cook, stirring constantly, until very fragrant and pecans start to brown, 4-5 minutes. Remove pecans with a slotted spoon, reserving butter in pan. Stir in brown sugar, maple syrup, and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 2 minutes. Remove from the heat. In a bowl, whisk a small amount of the hot mixture into eggs; return all to the pan, whisking constantly. Stir whiskey, optional, and vanilla into brown sugar mixture; stir in pecans. Pour into crust. , Bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 55-60 minutes. Cover edges with foil during the last 30 minutes to prevent overbrowning if necessary. Cool on a wire rack. If desired, top with whipped cream and cinnamon. Refrigerate leftovers.

Lisa, our head chef and night kitchen manager, whips these pies up fresh daily for our guests in the restaurant. They go great with our homemade vanilla ice cream.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup cane syrup
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecan halves
One 9-inch pie crust

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Cream the butter, sugar, flour, and salt until smooth. Add the syrup, eggs, and vanilla, then fold in the pecans. Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until firm to the touch.
  • Serve the pie warm or cool.

pastry for a 9-10-inch double crust pie
1 c sugar
4 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
dash salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 c fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
egg wash made with 1 egg yolk and 2 tablespoons water
sanding sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Line pie plate with pastry. Combine sugar, flour, spice and salt. Add to peaches, mix lightly. Fill shell. Dot with butter. Add top crust; crimp edges. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sanding sugar. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 45-50 minutes or until juices are bubbling and the crust is nicely browned. Serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.
