This broccoli side dish features gochujang, which is a red chili/soybean paste that's as widely used as ketchup in Korean cuisine. It lends a spicy and slightly savory-sweet flavor that goes great with broccoli.

4 crowns Broccoli snap into smaller pieces
3 tsp Gochujang
2 tsp Sesame oil
2 tsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Rice vinegar
1 tsp Rice vinegar
2 tsp Minced garlic
Sesame seeds to garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Heat sesame oil in wok or deep frying pan on medium-low heat. Add garlic and broccoli and sauté for 4 minutes, stirring continuously. 2. Mix gochujang, soy sauce, and rice vinegar together in a bowl. Add the mixture to the broccoli and garlic and stir to coat. 3. Reduce heat to low and cover (with large plate if using a wok). Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until just fork tender. Stir again to coat broccoli in any remaining sauce in the pan. 4. Remove from pan, garnish with sesame seeds.

2 cups water
1 pound mung bean sprouts
1 baby carrot, cut into matchsticks
1 green onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add mung beans; cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain. Rinse under cool running water to stop the cooking process. Drain well; transfer to a bowl.
  • Combine baby carrot and green onion in a small microwave-safe bowl. Cover with water and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Drain.
  • Stir baby carrot and green onion into the bean sprouts in the bowl. Add sesame oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and sesame seeds; mix by hand until combined.

1 lbs Broccoli florets
2 tsp Sesame oil
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Soy Sauce
2 tsp Sesame seed
1/2 tsp Minced garlic

  • Steam/boil broccoli florets as usual Gently squeeze the broccoli to remove excess water and put it in a bowl Put in the rest of ingredients in order (Sesame oil ->Minced garlic) and toss

Great vegetable side dish for any Asian meal. I got this from my sister, who received the recipe from her Korean mother-in-law...this has become my favorite way to prepare broccoli.

6 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce (I use low sodium)
2 tablespoons fresh ginger (grated)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a dry skillet, toast sesame seeds at medium heat until golden brown.
  • Mix rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and 1 tablespoon of the sesame seeds. Let stand.
  • Steam broccoli until tender-crisp.
  • Mix dressing and steamed broccoli, and top with remaining sesame seeds.
  • Let stand at room temperature until served.
