6 - 8 large eggs ((straight from fridge))
1 cup (250ml) cold water

Steps:

  • Place Eggs in Instant Pot: Place 1 cup (250 ml) of cold water and a trivet in Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. Place 6 - 8 large eggs on the steamer rack. Close the lid, then turn Venting Knob to Sealing position.
  • Pressure Cook Eggs: Pressure cook at a) High Pressure: 8 minutes + Quick Release or b) Low Pressure: 12 minutes + Quick Release Open the lid carefully.
  • Serve Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs: Peel the eggs under cold running tap water and serve immediately. Note: If you are not serving immediately, stop the cooking process by submerging the eggs in a cold water bath for roughly 5 minutes.

Steps:

  • Lightly spray a 7-inch cake pan with nonstick cooking spray. Crack the eggs into the pan.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups water to a 6-quart Instant Pot® and add the rack. Transfer the pan of eggs to the rack and follow the manufacturer's guide for locking the lid and preparing to cook. Set to pressure cook on high for 9 minutes.
  • After the pressure-cook cycle is complete, follow the manufacturer's guide for quick release and wait until the quick-release cycle is complete. Being careful of any remaining steam, unlock and remove the lid.
  • Remove the pan and let the eggs cool to room temperature. Invert onto a cutting board and chop the eggs. Perfect for egg salad or to add to potato or tuna salad.

Steps:

  • 5-Minute Quick Pressure Release Method:
  • Pour the water into the Instant Pot and place a steamer basket or the trivet into the pot. Gently place up to 12 eggs into the basket or on top of the trivet, taking care not to crack the eggs as you add them. Secure the lid and set the Pressure Release to Sealing. Select the Manual setting and set the cooking time for 5 minutes at high pressure.
  • While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath. When the timer goes off, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then move the Pressure Release to Venting to release the remaining steam. Open the pot and transfer the eggs to the ice bath to cool. Peel when ready to serve.
  • Natural Release Method:
  • Pour the water into the Instant Pot and place a steamer basket or the trivet into the pot. Gently place up to 12 eggs into the basket or on top of the trivet, taking care not to crack the eggs as you add them. Secure the lid and set the Pressure Release to Sealing. Select the Manual setting and set the cooking time for 2 minutes at high pressure.
