You will love a cold glass of this after working outside in the hot sun. Double the recipe but only add an additional tea bag (3)

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 1/2 cups 2% low-fat milk
1 tablespoon sugar or 1 tablespoon artificial sweetener
2 chai tea teabags
ground cinnamon (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients, except the cinnamon in a saucepan, bring to a boil stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat, let stand 3-4 minutes, Remove the tea bags.
  • Chill in the fridge.
  • Serve over ice cubes with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

2 Tbsp loose oolong tea leaves
2 c boiling water
1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled & sliced
4 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
3 whole cloves
1 stick cinnamon
1/2 - 1 star anise
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 Tbsp honey, or equivalent in sweetener of choice
1 tsp *real* vanilla extract
1/2 c whole milk or non dairy alternative of choice
1/2 c ice cubes

Steps:

  • 1. In small saucepan bring water & spices to a boil.
  • 2. Add tea leaves. Bring back to a boil then turn off heat, cover & steep until almost cool. (or refrigerate!)
  • 3. Strain tea into a blender & discard solids. (or re-steep!)
  • 4. Add honey, vanilla, milk & ice cubes. Process until smooth.

8 chai tea bags
4 cups hot water
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup orange-flavored cream soda
1/2 cup vanilla-flavored cream soda
1/2 cup milk
Cinnamon sticks, if desired

Steps:

  • Chill glasses in freezer several hours before serving.
  • Steep tea bags in hot water 3 to 5 minutes. Remove bags. Stir vanilla and brown sugar into tea until sugar is dissolved. Stir in all remaining ingredients except cinnamon sticks. Refrigerate at least 1 to 2 hours to blend flavors.
  • Serve over ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick.
