I make this using decaf coffee and my 7 year old loves it...and I do too! An easy, awesome summer drink.

1/3 cup instant coffee granules (decaf if desired)
1/2 cup boiling water
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups cold water
1 quart cold lowfat chocolate milk
2 -4 cups cold white milk

Steps:

  • Mix coffee granules and boiling water.
  • Add sweetened condensed milk and cold water until completely blended.
  • Mix in chocolate milk and add cold milk (add white milk in amount to desired flavor; I usually use more than 4 cups, especially if the chocolate milk being used is very dark).
  • Chill at least one hour and serve over ice.

I have been making Iced or Hot Cafe Mochas for so long all the way back as a kid. We always had espresso in the house because we drank that regularly instead of American Coffee. When I was 15 I became a Barista in a local sweet shop that was kind of like a Candy, Snack, Ice Cream and Cafe. The store was called Boardwalk...

3 c freshly brewed espresso, decaf or caffeine (i prefer lavazza brand espresso if you can find it)
milk, 2% (amount will determine by size of glass you use)
hershey's or nesquick chocolate syrup
redi whip
maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • 1. Fill your glass with ice, squeeze a good amount of chocolate syrup, and pour in about 3 ounces of brewed espresso. It's okay if it's still hot, the ice will help cool it off. Add milk to almost top of glass. and stir glass. Taste drink and see if it needs more espresso or chocolate syrup, again this is to your liking and how strong you want it. Top off your drink with Red Whip Cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a maraschino cherry. ENJOY!
  • 2. NOTE: You can also add the ingredients into a blender and mix until about the deeper color of chocolate milk, then pour in glasses that have been filled with ice. Garnish the same way. Some people like theirs sweeter so you can provide sugar or sugar substitute to sweeten the drink!

BLENDER MIX
¾ cup whole milk
½ teaspoon mexican vanilla
½ cup ice cubes
1 teaspoon of folger's instant coffee granules
1 teaspoon ghirardelli sweet chocolate and cocoa powder
½ teaspoon stevia sweetener
OTHER
1 tablespoon vegan wildly organic chocolate syrup
whipped cream for topping

Steps:

  • 1. Add the Blender Mix ingredients to the blender and blend until well mixed. TIP You have to follow the method the coffee shops use in making their iced drinks, which is to use a blender, or the chocolate and cocoa powder doesn't mix well. When it is blended, it makes a smooth and slightly foamy chocolate milk, and it tastes wonderful. This recipe is flexible. You can adjust amounts if you like the coffee taste stronger, or sweeter.
