These burgers are chock full of spicy peppers. When handling the chile peppers be sure to wear gloves, and don't let the pepper oils come in contact with your eyes. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
1 small fresh poblano chile pepper, seeded and minced
1 fresh habanero pepper, seeded and minced
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon ground cumin

Steps:

  • Preheat grill for high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the beef, garlic, jalapeno peppers, poblano pepper, habanero pepper, red pepper flakes, cilantro, and cumin. Form into burger patties.
  • Lightly oil the grill grate. Place burgers on grill, and cook for 5 minutes per side, or until well done.

Hot 'n Spicy Cheeseburgers image

These are great when you're tired of the same old hamburger. We use our outside gas grill all winter long in Maine!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/4 cup banana pepper, seeded &chopped (we use VLASIC)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (classic flavor)
6 slices thin cheddar cheese
6 hamburger buns, split & toasted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the beef, peppers& cumin.
  • Shape the beef into 1-inch thick patties.
  • On the grill rack, place the patties over medium hot coals.
  • Grill, uncovered until done (approx. 10 min on first side for a medium and 12 minutes for a well-done).
  • Flip burgers and brush often with the BBQ sauce.
  • The last minute of grilling place a cheese slice on each burger; heat until melted.
  • Serve on the toasted buns.
  • These can also be broiled in the oven.
