HORSEY TARTAR SAUCE

This is a recipe by Gary Hanq. Just a bit of a bite depending how much Horseradish you add. I like this better then the regular store brand I was buying.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/3 to 1/2 cup(s) hellman's mayo
1 teaspoon(s) garlic fresh minced
1 teaspoon(s) boetje's mustard or stone ground or dijon
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) horseradish
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon(s) lemon juice

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients well and serve.
  • Add a little more Mayo for more. Adjust the amount of Horseradish to "just a hint" or "over the top", if you like.
  • This even has the fish enjoying it.
  • Note: Boetje's Mustard, is a Quad City, Illinois thing at Route 80 and the banks of Ol' Miss. They've been bottling a stone ground mustard forever. Folks that move away call back to get some sent to them. Or make a trip back to acquire some, or order from the internet. You can use Stone Ground or Dijon.
