An awesome snack! My mom used to make this every Christmas, and give some away in Christmas tins, or fancy jars. Makes a great hostess gift, or teacher gift- but now I just make it for myself and my family, usually two batches each Christmas!

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
9 cups shreddies cereal
9 cups Crispix cereal
4 cups unsalted peanuts
8 cups pretzel sticks
4 cups cheese sticks or 4 cups goldfish crackers
3 cups canola oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon seasoning salt
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Mix all dry ingredients together in a large roasting pan.
  • Toss to mix.
  • Mix oil, garlic powder, seasoned salt and worcestershire sauce together in a large measuring cup.
  • Whisk together, it will want to separate, so keep whisking while you pour over dry ingredients.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Bake at 250 uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours Mixing every 20 minute.
  • Allow to cool, enjoy!

HONEY GARLIC BAKED PORK BITES



Honey Garlic Baked Pork Bites image

Moist and tender, with charred bits too, these Honey Garlic Baked Pork Bites are delicious and easy to prepare. Despite the long cooking time, this main is perfect for a family dinner anytime. Sweet and garlicky, with an optional kick of spice and heat. Yum!

4 pounds pork shoulder, (fat cap removed, cut into 1.5 - 2" pieces)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large yellow onion, (sliced 1/2 inch thick)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 cloves garlic, (finely minced)
1 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon dried red chili flakes
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, (plus more for garnish)
parsley, (chopped for garnish)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large oven-safe baking dish, gently toss the pork with salt, pepper, onion, and olive oil. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  • In the meantime, stir together the honey, dried red chili flakes, and garlic. Set aside.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and add the honey and garlic mixture. Stir into the pork bites. (There will be a lot of water in the pan - do not drain!) Bake for 30 minutes, uncovered.
  • Remove dish from oven, stir, and bake for 30 minutes. Then, repeat this step once more.
  • Lastly, remove the dish from the oven again, add the sesame seeds, stir, and return to the oven for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, and allow to cool for five minutes. Sprinkle with chopped, fresh parsley and sesame seeds. Serve.

3 cups Honey Nut Chex
2 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
1 1/2 cups Bugles original flavor snacks
1 cup pretzels or 1/2 cup honey-roasted peanuts
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon margarine (Do not use spread or tub products) or 1 tablespoon butter (Do not use spread or tub products)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325oF (160oC).
  • Mix cereals, snacks and pretzels in a large bowl; set aside.
  • Heat corn syrup, honey and margarine to boiling in 1-quart (946 ml) saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  • Pour over cereal mixture in bowl, stirring until evenly coated.
  • Spread in ungreased 15 1/2-inch baking pan with sides.
  • Bake 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes.
  • Spread on waxed paper or aluminum foil; cool completely.
  • Break into bite-size pieces.
  • Store in airtight container.

HONEY-BUTTER ROASTED BEETS



Honey-Butter Roasted Beets image

Beets and honey are just two of nature's purest candies. Combine and roast them, and you have a delicious treat. These beets are sliced and drizzled with a mixture of melted butter, honey, vanilla and just a touch of salt. This smelled so heavenly while roasting that we could hardly wait to dig in.

2 lbs beets, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons honey, mild
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Slice green tops from beets (and reserve for another use if desired). Carefully peel rough outside layer from beets. Slice beets to 1/4-inch thickness (note that some larger beets may require slicing into quarters). Then arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet with raised sides.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt honey and butter together (microwave for 30-40 seconds until smooth). Whisk in the salt and vanilla.
  • Drizzle honey-butter mixture over beet slices and toss with hands or a rubber spatula until thoroughly coated. Then rearrange into a single layer.
  • Roast for 20 minutes, remove from oven, toss with a rubber spatula, redistribute in the pan and return to toast another 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, allow to cool for 5 minutes and serve.
