She took one bite and instantly asked, "What's in this? It's so good!" I used salted butter because I liked the subtle combination of sweet and salty, but one could use unsalted if desired. It is best served at room temperature spread on the bread of your choice.

  • Place butter and honey in a small mixing bowl.

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (don't beat)
1 lb butter (425 grams)
1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Mix sugar, honey and cream together and heat until boiling.
  • Stir continually and boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add butter.
  • Beat well with mixer.
  • Add vanilla and beat until smooth.

Since my Dad was a beekeeper we always had LOTS of honey and this simple spread for toast was a morning staple. Its good on biscuits and home made yeast rolls, too.

HONEY BUTTER:
2 stick butter
1/2 c honey
3 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp brown sugar
STRAWBERRY BUTTER VARIATION:
omit brown sugar
1 pkg (10 ounces) frozen strawberries, thawed
1 c powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Cream butter with a mixer until fluffy. Add honey in a fine stream. Blend in juice and brown sugar and mix until well blended. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • 2. STRAWBERRY BUTTER VARIATION: Omit brown sugar. Add 1 (10 ounce) package thawed frozen strawberries and 1 cup powdered sugar. Mix as above with mixer until nicely blended.

If you have even eaten at Cheddars Restaurant you know how good their Honey Buttered croissants are. I found this recipe on the web and thought I would share with everyone. This spread is so good on any warm croissants or rolls.

2 Tbsp confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Melt your butter in a microwave safe bowl.
  • 2. Add the honey and sugar to melted butter and stir well
  • 3. Brush or drizzle on warm Croissants or rolls. If you have any left just store in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave.
