3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 cups water
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 tablespoons cocoa
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup margarine, softened
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons cocoa

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350*.
  • Stir together first 5 ingredients.
  • Add flour, sugar, soda and salt.
  • Stir until mixed well.
  • Pour into greased and floured 9x13 baking pan.
  • Bake for 40 minutes.
  • Frosting: Beat all ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  • Frost completely cooled cake.

This is a quick and easy cake to make when in a pinch. I got it from the Divide School Cookbook.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup(s) butter
2 cup(s) sugar
3 cup(s) flour
1 cup(s) sour cream
3 - eggs
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
- jelly (any flavor)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix all ingredients except jelly together.
  • Pour into 2 greased round cake pans.
  • Bake 35-50 minutes or until top of cake springs back when pushed lightly with your fingertips.
  • Let cool a few minutes; spread jelly on top of each layer while still warm.
