- Preheat oven to 375°. Cook pasta according to package directions for al dente; drain., Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth; gradually whisk in milk and cream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Gradually stir in Swiss and Colby cheeses until melted. Add ham and pasta; toss to coat., Transfer to a greased 11x7-in. baking dish. In a small bowl, mix topping ingredients; sprinkle over pasta. Bake, uncovered, until bubbly, 15-20 minutes.

HAM PASTA SALAD
Steps:
- Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain the pasta in a colander and rinse under cold water. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
- In a large bowl, combine ham, pasta, cheese, green onion, bell pepper, celery, and peas.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, vinegar, sugar, dill, salt, and pepper.
- Pour dressing over pasta mixture and toss until completely coated. Taste and season with additional salt and pepper, if necessary.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

GARLICKY HAM AND SWISS

- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat and add the minced garlic. Cook to infuse the garlic flavor into the butter and until the butter turns brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and strain.
- Lay out 4 slices of the bread on a work surface. Layer each with 1 slice of the cheese, some ham and then some of the cornichons. Top with 1 more slice of cheese. Close the sandwiches with the remaining bread and brush with butter until fully coated on both sides.
- Place 2 sandwiches into a medium skillet over medium heat. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the bread is evenly golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip, cover again and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is visibly melted, about 2 minutes more. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches. If desired, rub the outside of the toasted bread with the garlic halves to add a little more garlic flavor.

- In a 2 to 3 quart sauce pot, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and stir for 2 minutes.
- Slowly add the milk, whisking to combine.
- Bring to a simmer, add the salt, white pepper and nutmeg.
- Reduce the heat to low and let sauce simmer slowly for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees and, on the stove top, cook the macaroni according to pkg.
- directions, drain and place in a large bowl.
- Remove the sauce from the heat, add the swiss cheese and stir until it melts.
- Combine the sauce, cubed ham and peas with the drained macaroni.

- Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
