I love to grill this ham steak all year-round. It's an impressive meat dish to make for company or family. So quick to prepare, the ham tastes great with the smoky flavor from the grill and the tangy sweetness of the sauce. Irresistible!

1/4 cup apricot or plum preserves
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 ham steak (about 2 pounds and 1 inch thick)

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the preserves, mustard, lemon juice and cinnamon. Cook and stir over low heat for 2-3 minutes. Set glaze aside. Score edges of ham. , Grill, uncovered, over medium heat for 8-10 minutes on each side, brushing with glaze during the last few minutes of grilling.

1-1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon molasses
2 to 3 teaspoons ground mustard
2 to 3 teaspoons ground ginger
3 bone-in fully cooked ham steaks (1 pound each and 3/8 inch thick)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Pour 1-1/2 cups into a large resealable plastic bag; add ham steaks. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade for basting., Drain and discard marinade. Using long-handled tongs, moisten a paper towel with cooking oil and lightly coat the grill rack. Grill ham steaks, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 10-15 minutes or until heated through, turning and basting frequently with reserved marinade.

1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 1/2 to 3 pounds center-cut smoked ham steaks, 1 to 2 inches thick
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • TO MAKE THE RUB: In a small bowl combine the rub ingredients. Brush both sides of the steak with the butter. Sprinkle the rub evenly on both sides of the steak, pressing the spices into the meat. 1 ham steak, 1/2 inch thick (1 pound)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon apricot preserves

Steps:

  • Cut outer edge of fat on ham diagonally at 1-inch intervals to prevent curling (do not cut into ham). Mix mustard, honey and preserves.
  • Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat. Grill ham uncovered 4 to 6 inches from medium-high heat 4 minutes. Turn ham; brush with mustard mixture. Grill 4 minutes longer. Turn ham again; brush with remaining mustard mixture. Grill about 2 minutes longer or until heated through.
