OLD-FASHIONED BUTTERMILK PIE
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Beat the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until smooth.
- Mix in the flour, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla.
- Pour the filling into the pie shell then sprinkle the top with nutmeg.
- Bake for 1 hour, or until golden brown and firm (insert a toothpick into the middle, it should come out clean).
- Let cool completely before slicing.
- Serve with whipped cream or fresh berries, and enjoy!

OLD-TIME BUTTERMILK PIE

- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening until smooth. Gradually add milk and egg and mix well. On a floured surface, roll dough out very thin. Place in a 10-in. pie pan; set aside. , For filling, cream butter and sugar in a bowl. Add flour. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into crust. , Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Cool completely before serving.

BUTTERMILK PIE
This is my Grandmothers buttermilk pie recipe and I have so many fond memories of her in the kitchen making this pie. It has to be one of my favorites and I hope it will become yours too.

Steps:
- 1. Cream together the sugar and butter till well blended. Beat in the eggs, 1 at a time, until the mixture is nice and smooth. Add in the vanilla, salt and flour. Beat in the buttermilk until well combined.
- 2. Place the pie shell on a baking sheet lined with foil (catches any overflow). Fill the pie shell with the buttermilk mixture, just to the top of the shell. Pour any remaining into an ungreased custard cup. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let set until almost cooled before serving. Store covered in the fridge
