GEORGIA SPECIAL

During high school days, a friend invited me over for Sunday lunch. Her mother made this delicious cake. My sick dad requested it for Easter lunch so it is still a favorite of ours.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 box(es) duncan hines yellow cake mix
1/2 cup(s) crisco oil
4 - eggs
1 can(s) (11 oz.) mandarin oranges with juice
- cook all the above in 13 x 9 cake pan approx 30 minutes according to box directions
TOPPING:
1 large cool whip
1 large vanilla pudding mix
1 large can crushed pineapple (20 ozs.) with juice
- mix all 3 ingredients together and spread over cooled cake

Steps:

  • OPTIONAL: May add fresh berries to the top of your cake or chopped pecans. This is a very moist, fruity cake and when you add raspberries and black berries or blueberries to the top, it is indeed special. Enjoy!
  • *NOTE* You may swap the Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix for Butter Cake Mix. Use a half cup of Crisco with the D.H. Butter Cake Mix also. (I made this recipe this morn with a D.H. Butter Cake Mix since I didn't have a yellow cake mix.)
