2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup buttermilk
1 small onion, diced
½ cup vegetable oil
2 hard-boiled eggs, diced
5 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 pinches kosher salt

Steps:

  • Whisk mayonnaise, buttermilk, onion, vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, parsley, garlic powder, pepper, and salt together in a bowl until dressing is creamy, about 30 seconds. Store dressing in a 1-quart jar in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

1 head garlic
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1 green onion, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Separate, peel garlic cloves & place in small saucepan with oil; cover & cook over low heat, shaking pan often until golden & softened, about 25 minutes.
  • Transfer to small food processor or blender; add next 5 ingredients & blend until smooth.
  • Stir in onion; refrigerate in air-tight container for up to 1 week.

1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons dried dill weed
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons of finely minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
3/4 cup buttermilk

Steps:

  • Whisk first 6 ingredients together. Add desired salt and pepper. Add buttermilk slowly to mixture to desired consistency (less milk for thicker dressing, more milk for thinner dressing). For best results, allow to sit overnight in the refrigerator. Will keep up to a week chilled, in sealed container.

I got this recipe from my sister in law, I am not sure where she got the recipe. It is my new favorite recipe for dressing. It is especially good on a mexican taco salad type dish-my favorite includes shredded pork, black beans, tomatoes, lettuce and this dressing. Mmmmm... Serving size is a guess, since some people like to put a few tablespoons on their salad and some people like to put half a cup on. :) Should produce about 2 cups of dressing-I think.

I threw this dressing together on a whim, when discovered I was fresh out. Needed some in a hurry, so this is what I came up with. The family loved it. It should be prepared a few hours ahead for the flavors to mesh. Use as a dressing, or a dip as I did. Enjoy!

1/2 c buttermilk
2 - 3 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 Tbsp minced, sweet onion
1 1/2 tsp dried parsley flakes
salt to taste
1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/2 tsp rice wine vinegar
1/2 tsp sugar
red pepper flakes - optional - we like heat

Steps:

  • 1. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl, whisk until well combined. Taste to see if needs more seasoning. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
