I always have the ingredients to put together these soft chewy bars. They have been a hit at many potlucks, and someone is always asking for the recipe. -Nola Burski, Lakeville, Minnesota

Number Of Ingredients 13

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg yolk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
FILLING:
1 package fudge brownie mix (13-inch x 9-inch pan size)
1 large egg
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup canola oil
TOPPING:
1 package (11-1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips, melted
3/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Press onto the bottom of a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. , Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the filling ingredients. Spread over hot crust. Bake for 15 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes. , Spread melted chocolate over filling; sprinkle with walnuts. Cool completely. Cut into bars.

2 cups quick-cooking oats
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons shortening
1 cup milk chocolate M&M's

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Stir in pecans. Set aside 1-1/2 cups for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan., In a large saucepan, combine the milk, chocolate chips and shortening. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted; stir until smooth. , Spread over crust; sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture. Top with M&M's. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

1 (12 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons cold butter, cut up
1 (17.5 oz.) package Pillsbury® Sugar Cookie Mix
1/3 cup Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
6 tablespoons butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Holiday decorator sprinkles

Steps:

  • 1.HEAT oven to 350°F. Microwave sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in medium microwave-safe bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until melted and smooth when stirred. Stir in cold butter until completely melted. Cool while preparing dough, about 15 minutes. 2.COMBINE sugar cookie mix, flour and salt in large bowl, stirring until blended. Add peanut butter, melted butter, eggs, vanilla and almond extract. Mix well. Reserve 3/4 cup dough for topping. Press remaining dough evenly in bottom of ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan. 3.SPREAD chocolate mixture evenly over crust. Crumble reserved dough into very small crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over chocolate mixture. Sprinkle evenly with decorator sprinkles, if desired. 4.BAKE 23 to 28 minutes or until set in center and edges are golden brown. These are my old faithful!! When I don't know what to make for a dessert I will make these. Everyone always loves them!! They are quick and easy. I have made them for years. I will make them different by adding pecans to the top or making the bottom thicker by using more cookie dough. Depends on my mood =)

2 rolls of chocolate chip cookie dough( i have even used the cookie mix in a bag or box)
2 c semi-sweet choclate chips
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 can(s) eagle brand milk

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350
  • 2. In a sauce pan combine eagle brand milk, chocolate chip, butter, and vanilla.Cook over low heat stirring well until everything is melted togather. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 15min
  • 3. Using floured hands press 1 1/2 of the rolls of cookie dough into a 13x9 baking dish. Pour cooled choclate mixture over the cookie dough.Crumble the half of the cookine dough on top.
  • 4. Bake for 25-30 min. allow to cool before cutting.
  • 5. You can vary this by using different cookie doughs. Adding pecans . Using extra cookie dough and making the bottom layer thicker(thats the way my family likes it)

  • Crust: In mixing bowl combine melted peanut butter, butter/margarine, cake mix and eggs. Stir by hand until mixture holds together by itself. Press 2/3 of dough into a 13"X9" pan. Reserve remaining dough for topping. Prepare filling from above using the following instructions: Combine all ingredients for filling in a sauce pan and mix together stirring constantly until smooth and melted,pour over crust. Sprinkle reserved dough on top of filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
