Satisfy both your brownie and chocolate chip cookie cravings in one amazing dessert! We mixed together our favorite Betty Crocker™ fudge brownie mix and a pouch of classic Betty Crocker™ chocolate chip cookie mix and the result is delicious chocolate chip cookie brownies. Top them with Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting for an extra-indulgent creamy chocolate finish or enjoy them without frosting for perfectly soft and classic chocolate chip cookie dough brownies. While this recipe only takes about 15 minutes to prep, make sure you have enough time to let them cool before frosting and slicing.

1 box (18.3 oz) Betty Crocker™ fudge brownie mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box for cakelike brownies
1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ chocolate chip cookie mix
Butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch
1 container Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box for cakelike brownies. Spread in pan.
  • Make cookie mix as directed on pouch. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls evenly onto brownie batter; press down lightly.
  • Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 1 hour 30 minutes. Frost with frosting. For brownies, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

Years ago, my children and I came up with these bars by combining two of their favorite treats. With a crisp cookie crust and a fluffy frosting, these brownies are the most requested treats at our house.

1 tube (18 ounces) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
3 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butter, cubed
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
FROSTING:
2 cups miniature marshmallows
6 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
3 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Press cookie dough into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. , Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine the marshmallows, chips and butter; cook and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Transfer to a large bowl; cool. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually stir into marshmallow mixture. Stir in nuts. , Spread over cookie crust. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. , For frosting, in a small saucepan, combine the marshmallows, milk, butter and chocolate. Cook and stir over low heat until smooth. Remove from the heat; beat in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Frost brownies. Cut into bars.

1 tube (18 ounces) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, or prepare Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever recipe
3 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butter, cubed
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
Frosting
2 cups miniature marshmallows
6 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate
3 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Press cookie dough into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. If you use my chocolate chip cookie recipe, you will only need to press 3/4 of the batter into your 9x13. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes (The original recipe says 10 minutes, but I would only bake for 5-7 minutes, especially if you use my cookie recipe).
  • Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the marshmallows, chocolate chips and butter.
  • Cook and stir over low heat until melted and smooth.
