Number Of Ingredients 9

6 (4 oz.) skinless, boneless chicken breasts, raw
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp seasoned salt
2 Tbsp Land o'Lakes light butter made with canola oil
1 yellow onion, peeled & sliced
1 (10 oz.) can French onion soup ( I use Campbell's)
1 cup low sodium beef broth
1/2 cup fat free or light mozzarella (I use Market Pantry reduced fat mozzarella)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a skillet pan ( or cast iron grill skillet) melt butter and add sliced onions. Saute the onions in butter until softened and translucent.
  • When onions become soft, place onions on a plate and set aside.
  • Using the same skillet, spray the skillet with non stick cooking spray.
  • Season each chicken breast with paprika, garlic powder, and seasoned salt. Place seasoned chicken breasts into prepared skillet.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes on medium high, on both sides or until chicken breasts are golden brown.
  • Add onions back into the skillet with the chicken breasts.
  • Pour in the can of French onion soup and 1 cup beef broth. Simmer the chicken and onions for 2-3 minutes-this will allow the soup to caramelize the chicken.
  • If using a cast iron skillet pan top each chicken breast with light mozzarella cheese. (otherwise-transfer chicken, onions, and sauce into an oven safe baking dish-and top with light mozzarella cheese.)
  • Place skillet or baking dish in preheated oven.
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes or until bubbly.

French Onion Chicken is made in one skillet. This is probably BY FAR THE best chicken recipe I've made in quite some time

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tablespoon of butter
2 medium sliced onions, yellow or white
3 tablespoons beef broth
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 teaspoons of olive oil
Salt and pepper
1 cup of fat-free beef broth (reduced sodium) 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
4 slices of Sargento Ultra Thin provolone cheese slices
2 tablespoons of freshly chopped chives (optional)

Steps:

  • Add butter to pan. Melt.
  • Add sliced onions and 3 tablespoons of beef broth.
  • Cook the onions on low heat (between 1 and 5) for 20 to 30 minutes or until they are caramelized.
  • Remove the onions from the pan and transfer them to a dish.
  • In order for the chicken to cook evenly all at once, the thickness of each chicken breast should all be the same size. Pound them out evenly with a rolling pin or meat Mallet.
  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, and olive oil. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook 5 to 7 minutes on each side. When chicken is done it should register at 165 degrees or no longer be pink in the middle. If the chicken is not done cooking yet, it will continue cooking when you place it back in with the sauce.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set them aside.
  • Add the French onions to the skillet again with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1 cup of beef broth. Whisk until everything is combined. The sauce should start to thicken after 2 minutes.
  • Place the chicken back in the skillet and let it continue cooking in the sauce. 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Lay one slice of provolone cheese on top of each chicken breast and cover the pot with a lid. Melt the cheese with the lid on top.
  • Garnish the chicken with more cracked black pepper or chives.
  • Serving Size: 1 chicken breast/1 slice of cheese

3 chicken breasts, halved
1 packet mushroom
1 onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
4 cloves garlic
1 can french onion soup
shredded mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
2 tablespoons butter
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • In a large cast iron skillet, melt butter. Add mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper and sauté until starting to soften.
  • Add garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  • Add in red pepper flakes, cayenne, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire. Then, remove veggies and set aside.

salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon butter
6 large onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
1 cup beef stock
2 cups gruyère cheese, shredded
bread, sliced and toasted, to serve

Steps:

  • In a bowl, add the chicken thighs, salt, pepper, garlic, dried parsley, and olive oil, and toss until evenly coated.
  • Add the chicken to a skillet on medium-high heat. Sear until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Flip and cook the other side of the chicken, 2 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
