CREAMY SHRIMP DIP

Very creamy and tasty. Every time I make this it becomes everyone's favorite and requested over and over. I don't really like dips but this one is addictive.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 (6 ounce) can shrimp
1/2 onion
garlic powder
1 dash hot sauce
1 tablespoon mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Put onion and drained shrimp in the bowl of a food processor and chop fine.
  • Add cream cheese and blend well.
  • Add mayonnaise to make it blend a little smoother.
  • Add garlic powder and hot sauce.
  • Remove from processor and put into a covered bowl in the refrigerator to chill.
  • Serve with potato chips or crackers.

1 small onion
1/3 cup American cheese
5 ounces cooked shrimp
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 dash hot pepper sauce

Steps:

  • Insert steel blade, mince onion, using pulse. Add cheese & shrimp & continue to process until smooth.Add rest of ingredients. Process until smooth. Remove & chill. Serve with crackers.

1 pound uncooked large shrimp, unpeeled
2 green onions, coarsely chopped
1 shallot, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Steps:

  • Bring medium saucepan of lightly salted water to boil. Add shrimp and cook just until bright pink and opaque in center, about 3 minutes. Drain; rinse under cold water. Peel and devein shrimp; transfer to processor. Add green onions, shallot, and tarragon; using on/off turns, process until shrimp are finely chopped. Transfer shrimp mixture to medium bowl. Mix in mayonnaise and next 3 ingredients. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and chill at least 2 hours. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Keep chilled.)

We've been making this recipe for over twenty years. It was a favorite potluck appetizer recipe shared by a previous co-worker.

2 cans shrimp
1 small onion, chopped fine
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, plus
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon horseradish
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons dill weed

Steps:

  • Make one day ahead.
  • Let cream cheese rest at room temperature until soft.
  • Mash all ingredients together (a potato masher works great).
  • Chill before serving, at least one day.
