JELL-O Pudding Finger Paints are easy to make, fun to use and have this added bonus: You won't freak out if someone accidentally gets some in their mouth.

Yield 6 "paint" colors, about 1/3 cup each

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
2 cups cold milk
assorted food colorings (few drops of each of 6 colors)
1 env. Stem Kitchen

Steps:

  • Beat pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 min.; spoon into 6 muffin pan cups.
  • Stir different color food coloring into pudding in each cup.
  • Use fingers to paint pictures with pudding on sheets of construction paper or parchment paper. Let dry completely.

1 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
2 tablespoons dish soap
1/2 cup hot water
Red, yellow, green and blue food color

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, stir together cornstarch, cold water and dish soap. Add hot water; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until mixture is creamy.
  • Divide mixture among 4 small plastic containers. Drop several drops of red food color into 1 container; stir until well mixed. Repeat with remaining food colors and containers. Store covered at room temperature. Use for finger painting on paper or canvas.

3 ounces prepared chocolate pudding
3 ounces prepared vanilla pudding
cream, shaving aerosol can
food coloring
1 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup sugar

Steps:

  • PUDDING PAINT: Prepare the pudding according to package directions. Put dabs on oilcloth or vinyl tablecloth or placemat.
  • SHAVING CREAM PAINT: Squirt some aerosol shaving cream on colored paper (dark blue or black look cool) OR add a few drops of food coloring and smear around on white paper.
  • WHIPPED CREAM PAINT: Beat cream until soft peaks form, add the vanilla and continue beating until firmer peaks form, then add sugar and incorporate. Add a few dabs to paper or a paper plate. Food coloring may be added to make it interesting, too!
  • SUDSY FINGER PAINTS: Finger Paint (Non-edible): 1°C soap flakes (Ivory), dry tempera paint OR food coloring, 1/2°C water. Whip soap flakes, paint, and water using an electric mixer--until smooth and thick. Stir in food coloring if using. Put a blob on glossy-slick paper.
