OLIVE CHEESE BALL
If you like olives, you'll love this special cheese ball from LaVerne Vinzant of Catawba, Wisconsin. "I received the recipe from a friend many years ago and am always asked to make it," she writes. TIP: "I like to prepare this ahead of time and chill it for at least 3 hours. You can serve it with any snack cracker."

Steps:
- Combine, cheeses, mayonnaise, worcestershire sauce, and salts. Blend until smooth. If too stiff add a bit more mayonaise. Add olives and shape into ball. Combine dried beef and fresh parsley and roll ball in the mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and chill. For a difference you can roll in crushed walnuts or pecans.
- Serve with crackers.
- Note - this is best with freshly grated cheese - not the package of pre-shredded stuff, the moisture content is needed.
FESTIVE CHEESE BALL
Cheese is a wonderful and versatile party food. This cheese ball is loosely based on a recipe my mother always made to take to Christmas parties. It's quite different from her actual dish, but equally tasty and very easy to bring together. Time includes the first refrigeration.
