1 loaf (1 pound) herb or cheese bakery bread, cubed
1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 large eggs
1 teaspoon ground mustard
2 cups 2% milk

Steps:

  • Place bread cubes in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. In a large skillet, cook and crumble sausage with pepper and onion over medium-high heat until no longer pink, 5-7 minutes. With a slotted spoon, place sausage mixture over bread. Sprinkle with cheese., In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, mustard and milk; pour over top. Refrigerate, covered, overnight., Preheat oven to 350°. Remove strata from refrigerator while oven heats., Bake, uncovered, until a knife inserted in center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting. Freeze option: Cover and freeze unbaked casserole. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake casserole as directed, increasing time as necessary to heat through and for a thermometer inserted in center to read 165°.

3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup cubed fully cooked ham

1 (1 pound) loaf sourdough bread, sliced
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
½ cup diced sweet onion
1 cup diced green bell pepper
1 cup diced yellow bell pepper
1 cup diced red bell pepper
12 ounces cooked and crumbled bacon
8 eggs
1 cup sour cream
½ teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon herb seasoning blend (such as Spice Merchant® Great Lakes blend)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Spray a 9x13-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Lay slices of bread in the bottom of the prepared pan in a single layer, trimming and filling in gaps as necessary. Spread 1 cup Cheddar cheese, onion, green bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, red bell pepper, and bacon on top, in that order.
  • Whisk eggs, sour cream, mustard, seasoning blend, salt, and pepper together in a bowl until well combined. Pour mixture over bread, making sure to soak the top layer.
  • Cover baking pan and refrigerate strata at least 8 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Uncover strata and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

2 green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon water
2 slices white bread, cubed

Dash ground nutmeg
Dash pepper

I make Strata often as a way to use up day old or stale bread (its hard for 2 people to finish a loaf of bread!)I've come up with a lot of variations but this one is my favorite. this can definitely be made ahead to serve for brunch or keep in the fridge ready to pop in the oven after Church.

1 lb sliced bacon (cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
2 cups cooked ham (chopped)
1 small onion (chopped)
10 slices white bread, cubed
1 cup cooked potato (cubed)
3 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
8 eggs
3 cups milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 pinch salt and pepper

Steps:

  • In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp; add ham and onion. Cook and stir until onion is tender; drain. In a greased 13x9x2" baking dish, layer half the bread cubes, potatoes and cheese. 12 slices OSCAR MAYER Selects Uncured Turkey Bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 onion, chopped
10 slices white bread, cubed
1-1/2 cups cubed cooked peeled potatoes
2 cups KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Cheddar Cheese
3 cups milk
2 cups cholesterol-free egg product
1 Tbsp. LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325ºF.
  • Cook bacon and onions in skillet on medium heat 10 min. or until bacon is done, stirring occasionally.
  • Layer half each of the bread, potatoes, bacon and cheese in 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Repeat. Beat remaining ingredients with whisk until well blended; pour over ingredients in dish.

1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dry mustard
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:
