Our taste panel simply raved about this fast, fabulous dip! "It's a family favorite beginning with the fall apple harvest right through New Year's," says Sharon Parks of Adair, Illinois. She uses red, green and yellow apples to make it more colorful.

APPLE DIP

Apple Dip image

This was a childhood memory that I was craving, so I called my nanny and she gave the recipe to me. The second I tasted it, I was flushed with happy thoughts. It tastes like caramel! Enjoy with slices of apples for a healthy snack! Be creative: You can add peanut butter, nuts or chocolate sauce, or try using strawberry flavored cream cheese. Have fun and enjoy!

FALL APPLE DIP (2)

Fall Apple Dip (2) image

This is different from the other "Fall Apple Dip" posted as my recipe uses yogurt. It is so good, creamy, and pretty healthy, too!

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 15m

Yield 3 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (can use light version if desired)
8 ounces plain yogurt (can use light varieties, if desired. If you use vanilla yogurt, adjust vanilla, below, as required)
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla (to taste)
1/2 cup peanuts, crushed (optional)
apples (Granny Smith is best) or other fruit, cut for serving

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese, yogurt, brown sugar, vanilla, and (if used) peanuts.
  • Beat rapidly with electric mixer until smooth and fluffy. The consistency will be almost like frosting.
  • Serve with sliced Granny Smith apples or other fruits; I have not found any fruit that this doesn't pair well with.

FALL FRUIT DIP

This really does have a lovely spicy flavor. The honey adds a little extra depth, too. Try it with apples and grapes--you could even use it as a fruit salad dressing! Prep time is chill time.
