EASY SALISBURY STEAK
My mom would make this for us growing up. It was one of those easy dinners that we all loved to eat at the family table. Now we are still passing it down. My 17-month-old daughter LOVES this recipe. You can add other vegetables if you want (i.e. green onions, fennel, mushrooms, etc.). It can also be made with ground pork.

Steps:
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Shape into 4 oblong patties. Brown in a non-stick skillet, turning to brown both sides. (I use an electric skillet).
- Add enough water to reserved mushroom juice to make 1 cup, if using. Mix with gravy mix and pour over patties in pan. (I like a lot of gravy so I use 2 pkgs. Be sure to double your liquid if you are making extra gravy.) Add mushrooms, if using. Stir gently as not to break the patties.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minute's. Serve.
TERESA'S EASY SALISBURY STEAK
Steps:
- Finely chop the onion, use 1/2 cup to mix with the ground beef, save the rest for the gravy. Mix the ground beef, A.1. Steak Sauce, and Miracle Whip together. Add salt and pepper. Then stir in the finely chopped onions and mix all together by hand.
- Preheat a good sized soup pot (2 quart) while you patty out the ground beef mixture. Make the patties slightly rounded and thicker to withstand the cooking process. Fry the ground beef patties in pot till brown on both sides, but not all the way done. Remove the patties and set aside.
- Turn heat up on pot to high, add the 2 Tbsp. of flour,( may require more depending on amt. of grease in pan- need approx. 4 Tbsp. of drippings in pan for gravy)- and stir flour around in the grease on high till brown. Add 2 cans of beef broth and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, (if gets too thick, can add up to 1/2 cup of water.)
- Once thickened, turn the heat down to medium high and put the meat back in, along with the rest of the finely chopped onion and mushrooms. Let cook on medium high 30-45 minutes. Prepare Minute Rice according to package directions and dinner is served.
