¾ cup tomato ketchup
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp Cider / Balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp garlic powder
4 chicken breasts (skinless, boneless )
1 tsp salt
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • Combine the BBQ sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and set over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Combine the seasonings for the chicken then dust the chicken on both sides with the spice mixture, making sure the chicken is completely covered.
  • Cook the chicken on a hot grill (or a griddle pan on the stove), basting with the BBQ sauce continuously until the chicken is sticky, glossy and cooked through. Approximately 5-6 minutes per side.
  • Remove the chicken from the heat and allow to rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

4 whole skin-on, bone-in chicken breasts
1 cup barbecue sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray's®)
kosher salt and coarsely ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking pan with heavy-duty foil to make cleanup easier.
  • Prepare chicken breasts by cutting off the rib meat if you wish and rinse and pat dry. Leave the skin on. Season chicken with salt and pepper and put in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until juices start to appear, about 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Remove the pan and generously pour 1/2 of the barbecue sauce over chicken. Continue to bake for 20 minutes. Repeat with remaining barbecue sauce and cook until no longer pink in the centers and skin is crispy, 15 to 20 minutes more.

2 boneless chicken breasts
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce, divided
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on all sides. Place in slow cooker and pour 1/4 cup barbecue sauce and vinegar on top.
  • Cook on Low for 3 hours.
  • Combine brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  • Pour out all the liquid from the slow cooker and add remaining barbecue sauce. Sprinkle chicken with brown sugar-spice mixture.
  • Cook on Low, stirring occasionally, until chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 3 more hours. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

1 cup lemon juice
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup vinegar
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a large glass bowl mix lemon juice, vegetable oil, vinegar, oregano, and garlic powder. Place chicken pieces in the bowl, and season with salt and pepper. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil grate.
  • On the prepared grill, cook chicken until no longer pink and juices run clear. Periodically brush chicken with the remaining marinade mixture while cooking. Discard any leftover marinade.

For the Chicken:
4 boneless chicken breast halves (skin removed)
2 teaspoons olive oil (or canola oil)
Grill seasoning (to taste)
For the Barbecue Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons maple syrup (or packed brown sugar)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon olive oil (or canola oil)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. Rub the chicken breasts with the oil and sprinkle generously all over with the grill seasoning. Arrange in a greased shallow 2-quart baking dish. Alternatively, and for a quicker cleanup, line the baking dish with foil and grease the foil before adding the chicken to prevent sticking.
  • Combine the barbecue sauce ingredients in a bowl and stir to blend.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  • Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through. The chicken should register at least 165 F inside on an instant-read food thermometer , the minimum safe temperature for chicken consumption.
