The bocce ball is a popular and easy mixed drink that features amaretto and orange juice. The cocktail can also be made with vodka or as a drop shot.

1 1/2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce amaretto
5​ ounces ​​ orange juice
1 splash soda water
Garnish: ​ orange slice

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Pour the vodka, amaretto, and orange juice into a tall Collins glass filled with ice.
  • Add a splash of soda water .
  • Garnish with an orange slice, and serve. You might also consider switching to a flavored vodka to add more dimension. Citrus vodkas or any light fruit flavors are great options, and cake or whipped cream vodkas can add a sweet, creamy background.

2 ice balls
2 cups white cranberry juice
4 shots green apple vodka (recommended: Smirnoff)
1 shot cinnamon schnapps
2 silicone ice ball molds (available at www.muji.com)

Steps:

  • Make 2 ice balls using the ice mold according manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, use ice cubes.
  • Combine the cranberry juice, vodka, and schnapps together in a pitcher. Put the ice balls into 2 martini glasses and evenly divide the cocktail between the 2 glasses.

  • Orange Beer Burst:
  • Add 1 ounce of orange liqueur to 7 ounces of beer.
  • Beer Buzz:
  • Add 1 ounce of coffee liqueur to 7 ounces of beer.
  • Red Eye:
  • Add 1 ounce tomato juice, dash hot sauce, juice of 1 lemon, and juice of 1 lime to 7 ounces of beer.

4 shots dark rum
4 cups hot coffee
1/2 cup Caramel Sauce, recipe follows
1/2 cup whipped cream, from Peach Mug Pie, recipe follows
3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 (15-ounce) can peach halves, juice reserved and peaches chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 pinch salt
1 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
4 graham crackers, crumbled
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened

Steps:

  • Add 1 shot of rum and 2 tablespoons of Caramel Sauce to bottom of 4 heatproof glass mugs. Divide the coffee evenly between the mugs and top with a large dollop of whipped cream.
  • In a medium saucepot combine sugar, 3 tablespoons water, and lemon juice. Heat over medium-high heat. When sugar turns amber in color carefully and slowly whisk in heavy cream. Remove from heat and let cool. Place in airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
  • In a small bowl whisk together 2 tablespoons water with the cornstarch. In a small pot over medium heat reserved peach juice, cornstarch mixture, brown sugar and salt. Once the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes, stir in the chopped peaches.
  • In a chilled mixing bowl whip heavy cream with confectioners' sugar until soft peaks form. Use 1 cup for mug pies, and reserve the rest for another use.
  • Begin assembling peach pies by in clear glass mugs. Place a layer of graham crackers at the bottom, then a big spoonful of the peach pie filling. Sprinkle with another layer of graham crackers. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then another layer of graham crackers followed by a dollop of whipped cream.
