3 pounds boneless venison roast
1 large onion, sliced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Put cleaned meat in slow cooker and cover with onion. Sprinkle with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl combine the soup mix and the soup; mix together and pour mixture over venison. Cook on Low setting for 6 hours.

Although I'm not a venison eater, my family and friends say this melts in your mouth and very flavorful!

1-2 lb venison round steaks
4-5 Tbsp oil ( i use a mix of olive and canola)
2-3 celery stalks, cut in 1 inch pieces
2-3 onions, yellow, medium sliced
2-3 clove sliced garlic (to taste)
1 green bell pepper (or red) sliced
1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
1/2 c vinegar
3/4 c wine (any dry that you would drink)
fresh grated orange zest
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Rinse steaks well. Trim and cut into pieces. Heat oil and slightly saute steaks.
  • 2. Place steaks, celery, garlic, and onions to crock pot. Mix water with vingar to make about 1 cup liquid. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cook on low about 4 hours.
  • 3. Mix water and wine and add to pot, along with peppers and mushrooms. Grate some orange zest (about 2-3 tablespoons)into pot. Stir slightly. Cook about another hour or two, until meat is tender and falls apart.
  • 4. Serve with rice, noodles, or just crusty bread and a salad.

3 stalks celery, diced
½ cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 pounds venison stew meat
salt and pepper to taste
dried oregano to taste
dried basil to taste
1 cup tomato sauce
½ cup dry red wine
½ cup water

Steps:

  • Place the celery, onion, garlic, and parsley in the bottom of a slow cooker. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Brown the venison well in two batches, and add to the slow cooker.
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Pour in the tomato sauce, red wine, and water. Cook on Low for 7 to 10 hours.

My dad brings home venison each year, and my mom never knew how to cook it. When I was 16, I threw some venison and a few spices and sauces into the slow cooker before heading off to school. We were all surprised that it turned out great! I've perfected the recipe since then.

1 tablespoon olive oil
½ onion, diced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 pound boneless venison roast
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup chile-garlic sauce
¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
⅓ cup water
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon pepper

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 2 more minutes until softened.
  • Place venison roast into a slow cooker, and sprinkle with onion mixture. Stir together ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, chile-garlic sauce, water, salt, and pepper. Pour over the venison.
  • Cover and cook on Low until tender and no longer pink, 4 to 5 hours.
